Tonalyn Music

Tonalyn helps you find a song’s key by ear while you play piano. Play any note or chord on the on-screen keyboard, or connect a compatible MIDI keyboard. The piano works anytime, even with no song playing. Choose from piano and organ sounds in Settings, adjust the keyboard volume, and optionally show note names. Play music through your device’s speaker or from a nearby source, then start listening. Tonalyn uses the microphone to identify a recognizable song and estimate its major or natural-minor key. The song and artist appear when identified. The key stays hidden until you discover its home note. When the key is ready, turn on Guess Mode and play any note or chord in any octave. Each note you try gets feedback: the home note is gold, other notes in the estimated scale are green, and notes outside it remain unmarked. Discovering the home note reveals the key. Your recent guesses appear in the note trail. Turn Guess Mode off whenever you want to play without feedback. Try the original built-in demo without a microphone, streaming service, or MIDI keyboard. A live song match needs a recognizable recording and an internet connection. Tonalyn does not stream commercial songs or capture another app’s internal audio. A note in the scale may not fit the song’s current chord, and music can change keys. Free, with no subscription or account required. Microphone listening is under your control and stops when you end the session or leave the app.
