About
You're good at the work. The filming is the bit that gets annoying. Garage Reel gives you a shot list for the job you're about to do, tells you where to point the phone and why, checks each take, and builds the job into a short video while you're putting your tools away. For those who want to share their build/project on social media, but are not sure how to put together a good video. This will get you started- easy, premade templates make social media easy. HOW IT WORKS Pick what you're doing today — replacing a part, chasing a fault, stripping something down, first start. You get a list of short, specific shots: where to stand, how close, how long, and what makes each one worth taking. Film them in whatever order the job demands. The app works out the video order itself, so the video always looks professional. Some shots are timed and the camera stops itself, others you film until you're done, then cut to keep the good part — because nobody can time the moment a seized bolt finally moves. WHAT YOU END UP WITH A short video at the end of every session, ready to post. And every clip kept at full quality, in order, labelled with the shot it was for. When the project is finally finished you have an organised archive to cut the long version from, instead of four hundred unlabelled videos in your camera roll. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE ON CAMERA Not one shot requires it. Every piece to camera is optional, and you can talk over footage you've already filmed instead. You can also record a voiceover onto the finished video, and re-record it as many times as it takes. TWELVE JOBS, A HUNDRED SHOTS Introducing the project · Replacing a part · Chasing a fault · Stripping something down · Fitting an upgrade · Changing a fluid · Cleaning or restoring · Rust or bodywork · Wiring and electrics · Interior work · First start or test drive · Quick job Read any of them before you commit to anything. Build your own from scratch, or copy one and change it to suit how you work. Drag the shots into the order you'll actually do them in. ALSO IN HERE A framing guide and a shot reminder on the camera, so you're not filming blind. Pinch to zoom, tap to focus, and an optional 3 or 5 second timer for when the phone has to be set up. Also, A day counter, to keep track of your build. EVERYTHING STAYS ON YOUR PHONE No account. No sign-up. No uploads. No analytics, no tracking, no third-party anything. The app never makes a network request at all. Your finished video goes to Photos and you take it from there. WHAT IT DOESN'T DO It doesn't post for you, or add music. Add a trending sound or a good song through instagram.Read more

HOW IT WORKS
Pick what you're doing today — replacing a part, chasing a fault, stripping something down, first start.
WHAT YOU END UP WITH

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE ON CAMERA
Not one shot requires it. Every piece to camera is optional, and you can talk over footage you've already filmed instead. You can also record a voiceover onto the finished video, and re-record it as many times as it takes.
