About
Your neighbours are giving things away. PassItOn is where you find them. Food, clothes, furniture, toys, books, electronics - things people close by no longer need and would rather someone used than threw out. Nothing on PassItOn is sold. Nothing costs anything. It is one neighbour handing something to another. BROWSE BEFORE YOU JOIN Open the app and look. You can see everything listed near you and read the community without making an account. Sign up when you find something worth asking for. FIND SOMETHING - Set how far you are willing to travel and see only what is in range - Filter by food or non-food - Search for what you actually need - Save anything you want to come back to ASK FOR IT Send a request to the person giving it away, say when you can collect, and wait to hear back. They choose who it goes to. GIVE SOMETHING AWAY Photograph it, write a line about it, say when you are free. Your listing goes up after a quick review. When the requests come in, you pick the person it goes to. A HANDOVER YOU CAN BOTH BE SURE OF Chat inside the app before you meet, so you never have to hand out your phone number. When you meet, the collection is confirmed with a QR code or a short PIN - so both of you have a record it actually happened. THE COMMUNITY Ask your neighbours for something you are looking for, offer something you have, or just say what happened when you passed something on. Like, comment and reshare the posts that deserve it. FOR CHARITIES AND ORGANISATIONS Run a campaign, publish what you need, and collect donations of money, food or goods in one place. Verified organisations get a dashboard, receipts and payouts. WHY IT IS FREE Because a thing you no longer want is worth more to the person down the road than it is in your cupboard, and charging for that would defeat the point. Made in Nigeria. Built for Africa.Read more
