Manalect

Manalect is a language tutor that fits in the gaps of your day. Tell it what you speak and what you're learning, and it builds short sessions out of real sentences, not word lists. Every answer tells it something: what you know, what you half-know, and what to put in front of you next. Nothing is drilled that you have already proved. A SESSION IS ONE SENTENCE AT A TIME You read the sentence, work out the word that matters, and answer. Get it right and that word moves further out. Get it wrong and it comes back sooner, in an easier form. Sessions are short by design. This is a thing you do while the kettle boils, not an evening class. LOOK ANYTHING UP • Translate: any word or phrase, in either direction • Define: a real dictionary entry with meanings, examples, word class, pronunciation, and the word spoken aloud Anything you look up can join what you're learning, so the word you were curious about at lunch is the word that comes back tomorrow. YOUR WORDS, VISIBLE See everything Manalect is tracking for you, what level each word has reached, and when it is next due. No streaks, no hearts, no leaderboards. Just the state of your own vocabulary. LANGUAGES Learn Swedish, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese or English. You can learn from any of those, or from Turkish. PRIVACY • Your text leaves the phone only when you ask for a translation, a definition or a check • Sentences you write in a session are kept on your account, so they can become the material you study • Analytics records what you tap, never what you type • No ads, and no tracking across other companies' apps or websites WHAT YOU NEED An account, created with a code sent to your email. No password to invent or forget. Manalect needs a connection, because sessions and lookups are served from our backend. PREMIUM Manalect is free to use within limits. Premium removes the free plan's limits on pronunciation checks, explanations, chat and audio, with a fair-use limit behind it. • Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or yearly. Prices are shown in the app before you buy. • The yearly plan starts with a 1-week free trial for new subscribers. The monthly plan has no trial. • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends. • It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before that period ends. • Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel it. • Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. FEEDBACK If something is wrong, tell us at info@manalect.com.
