About

You can read 日 on a sign and still freeze with a pen in your hand. Recognising a character and being able to produce one are separate skills. Almost every app trains only the first. This one trains the second. Each character is drawn from real stroke-order data. When the turn comes, the app watches the whole motion: where the pen goes down, which direction it travels, the shape, whether it finished. Begin a line at the wrong end and it says which end was right, because "wrong" on its own teaches nobody. HOW A LESSON GOES Four characters, three short rounds, about five minutes. 学 Meet them — each draws itself, beside a word it appears in 書 Write them — trace the guide, green dot to gold 読 Prove it — reading and meaning from memory, two options Only a run with nothing missed earns 皆伝. INSIDE • 1,750 characters across 439 lessons, N5 through N1 • 8,131 words, so nothing is studied in isolation • On'yomi and kun'yomi in kana, not romaji • Spoken readings, using the Japanese voice on your device • Every level unlocked at launch — begin where you actually are A HABIT, NOT A COURSE Four characters is small enough to manage on a Tuesday. The app keeps a streak, fills a week strip readable at a glance, and sends one reminder at an hour you pick — scheduled locally by the phone itself. QUIET BY DESIGN No account, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, no third-party code. Everything works in aeroplane mode and stays on the device. The privacy label reads Data Not Collected, and that is accurate. Interface in English, العربية and Türkçe, right-to-left included. FREE AND PAID The opening three lessons of every level cost nothing — N1 included, so you can try the one you care about rather than the easiest. A subscription opens the remaining 424, weekly or yearly. CREDITS Stroke data: KanjiVG by Ulrich Apel (CC BY-SA 3.0). Readings and meanings: KANJIDIC2, Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group (CC BY-SA 4.0). Word lists: open-anki-jlpt-decks (MIT).
