Deets: Instant Contacts

About
Deets is an address book that gets out of the way. Open it and the search field is already waiting. Type two or three letters and the right person is there, name first, with the number or address you wanted directly underneath — no photographs to load, no coloured initial blobs, nothing decorative competing with the thing you came for. YOUR CONTACTS, NOT A COPY OF THEM Deets reads and writes the Contacts app already on your iPhone, so anything synced there — iCloud, Google, Exchange, a work CardDAV account — is simply there. Edit a contact in Deets and the change lands in Contacts. There is no second database and nothing to import to get started. ADD A CONTACT FROM ANYTHING Scan a business card with the camera, choose a photo of one, paste a signature block out of an email, or open a vCard. Every path runs on your device. Deets shows you exactly what it read, including the lines it could not place, before anything is saved. SHARING WITHOUT THE SHARE SHEET Show a QR code someone can point a phone at, or copy a clean block of plain text that survives an email. Your own card is a first-class thing, not just another entry. WIDGETS, SIRI AND SHORTCUTS Put the people you reach for most on the Home Screen, in small, medium or large. Say “Search Deets” or “Show my card in Deets” to Siri, or build a shortcut of your own around them. ON YOUR OTHER DEVICES Deets is one app across iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac. Favorites, your own card, your accent colour and your field order follow you over iCloud. On the Mac a single hotkey summons the same search from anywhere. On the watch, your favorites and their numbers are on your wrist, read-only by design. PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION Deets contains no networking code — not on iPhone, not on the watch, not on the Mac. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising identifier and no third-party code. Card scanning runs on your device. The only thing that ever leaves is your own settings, to your own iCloud, and even there your contacts are named by a one-way digest rather than by name or address. FREE Deets is free on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, with no ads and nothing locked. Deets for Mac comes with a 14-day free trial, then a one-time purchase. Requires iOS 26 and access to your Contacts.Read more

Also in this version: • If you have unsaved changes on a card, Deets asks before discarding them, whether you tap Back, pick someone else on iPad, or come in from a widget or Shortcuts. • If you haven't let Deets access your contacts, it now says so and takes you to Settings. If you've shared only some contacts, you can add more from inside the app. • The small widget now shows one person and opens them when you tap it. • Widgets and complications are faster and use le…
