About

Four tools in one app, each running on a sensor your iPhone already has. No attachments, no accounts, no ads. The spirit level and the tape measure are free in full, forever. SPIRIT LEVEL A bubble level and an angle readout on the accelerometer. Two modes: flat, for a shelf or a worktop, and vertical, for a picture or a door frame. Set zero against a surface you trust and the tool measures against that from then on — flat and vertical keep separate zeros. An optional tone tells you when you have hit level, so you can watch what you are doing instead of watching the phone. TAPE MEASURE Point-to-point distance in AR. Tap to drop a point, move, tap again. Points chain into a path, so a run of skirting is one measurement rather than four, and three or more of them also report the area they enclose. Metric or imperial, following whichever your phone is set to. SOUND METER Decibels from the microphone, with the current level, the session minimum, maximum and average. Fast and Slow time weighting behave the way a real sound level meter's do, and the average is L(eq), which averages energy rather than the numbers on screen. STUD FINDER The magnetometer reads the screws and nails holding plasterboard to the frame. Sweep the wall and the trace shows each hit; a line of them at even spacing is a stud. WHAT THESE TOOLS CANNOT DO Each tool opens by saying so, once, before you use it. The stud finder finds metal, not wood. It reacts to fixings, pipes and wiring, and it cannot tell you which of those it has found. Never drill on this reading alone. The tape measure estimates. Over a short span expect a centimetre or two out; over a room, more. For anything that has to fit, check it with a tape. The sound meter is not calibrated. A phone microphone has no traceable sensitivity and its response is shaped by the case. Read it as an approximation, not as evidence — anything official needs a Class 1 or 2 meter. The spirit level is only as good as its zero. A case, or a camera bump, lifts one edge by a fraction of a degree. TOOLKIT PRO The spirit level and the tape measure are free in full, forever — no watermark, no nag, no countdown. The sound meter and the stud finder are yours for three complete sessions each. A stud finder has to be tried against a real wall before anyone can know whether it is worth paying for, and one look is not enough to know that. Pro unlocks both for good, and lets every tool keep its measurements — including the free ones. Apple's Measure app forgets everything the moment you close it; yours are still there tomorrow. Available as a monthly subscription, or as a one-time purchase that is yours for good. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel them in your Apple Account settings. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. PRIVACY Everything is measured on your device. The microphone is read for levels and never recorded. The camera is used to place measurement points and the frames are never saved. The app sends usage statistics — which tools are opened, and how a purchase went — to help improve it. What you measure, and any audio or images, never leave the phone.
