About
BuckleUp reminds you to fasten your seatbelt with an alarm you'll actually hear. The car's built-in chime is easy to ignore. BuckleUp isn't. When it notices you've started driving, it sounds a siren at full volume, vibrates, and keeps going until you press a volume button or tap the big button on screen. HOW IT DETECTS DRIVING • Your car's Bluetooth connects (choose which devices count, or let BuckleUp learn your car) • GPS speed passes 10 mph, so slower vehicles count too • The phone's motion sensor recognizes you're in a vehicle • You drive away from a spot where you usually park • One reminder per trip; it re-arms after you've been parked a few minutes ALREADY BUCKLED? Tap the orange "Buckle me" button once your belt is on. It turns green, and there's no reminder for that drive — with a little confetti for doing the right thing. PARKING SPOTS BuckleUp learns the spots where your trips end and reminds you the moment you drive away from one — the earliest sign of a drive there is. There's nothing to set up. THE ALARM • A loud siren that ignores the silent switch • Plays from the iPhone's own speaker, even when the car is on Bluetooth • Turns a quiet phone up while it sounds, then puts the volume back • Silence it with either volume button, the lock screen, the banner, or the button in the app UNLOCK ALL SETTINGS A one-time purchase, not a subscription, lets you make the alarm your own: • Five sounds: Siren, Klaxon, Rapid chime, a spoken "Buckle up!" in any of your iPhone's voices, or your own recording — yours, or anyone in the family • An alarm length from 3 seconds to 2 minutes, with vibration on or off • Full volume or your phone's own settings; the iPhone speaker or the car's audio • The car speed that counts as driving, and how long you must be parked before the next trip WORKS IN THE BACKGROUND Reminders fire whether the app is open or not. Location needs to be set to Always. BuckleUp is a personal reminder tool. It can't tell whether your belt is actually fastened, and it may also fire when you're a passenger, on a bus, or on a train. NEW • Unlock All Settings — a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Choose a spoken "Buckle up!" in any of your iPhone's voices, record your own alarm (yours, or anyone in the family's), or pick the klaxon or rapid chime; set how long the alarm sounds and when a drive counts. Detection and the loud siren stay free for everyone. • A short screen before each permission question explains why BuckleUp asks. • The Status screen shows that either volume button silences the alarm and marks you buckled. BETTER • Fewer false alarms: GPS readings too unsure to trust — standing still, walking, indoors …
