About
Pieces fall. Rows fill up. Full rows disappear. There is no more story than that, and that is on purpose. Blockstar Turbo is a row clearer for children and everyone else: ninety-nine levels across nine halls, from the workshop to the crown. It does not get harder because something turns unfair, but because the pieces fall faster – 0.85 seconds on level 1, eight hundredths on level 99. SIX POWER BLOCKS Lightning clears the three lowest rows. The bomb blasts a five-by-five hole on landing. The magnet pulls everything down and closes every gap. Slow-mo buys twelve quiet seconds. Double counts everything twice for twenty seconds. And the magic wand turns the falling piece into a bar – the only way to order the bar when it refuses to come. THREE STYLES, A DEVICE OF YOUR CHOOSING You pick at switch-on: patisserie, laboratory or workshop – each style with its own colours, its own materials and its own sound. Then the frame: a console with a d-pad, or a phone with one finger. Both can be changed at any time. TWENTY-ONE MATERIALS The pieces are made of wood, iron and gold, of candy, lollipop and cotton candy, of crystal, neon and carbon. Each material sounds different when it lands. ANNA, SARAH AND STEFFEN Three characters who watch, cheer along and have something to say about it. You choose who plays. WHAT IS NOT IN IT No ads. No purchases. No account, no sign-in, no data collection. No outbound links and no reward loops built to keep you playing. The app does not go online – it technically cannot. Bilingual, English and German. Progress stays on the device. A game by Mai Digital, written, drawn and scored by a father for his daughter.Read more

SIX POWER BLOCKS
Lightning clears the three lowest rows.

SMOOTHER ON OLDER DEVICES The game was drawing every frame with more work than it needed. Two things changed, and both were measured on an inexpensive phone rather than guessed at a desk: finished shapes are no longer kept in memory – on a phone that cost several times more than it saved – and the picture now sits exactly on the screen's pixels. SHARPER The picture used to land one pixel beside its place, so the screen had to rescale it in every single frame: needless work, and softer than it had to be. Now it sits where it belongs.
