About
A stormy night over Stuttgart. Lightning strikes the pharmacy of the hospital "DAS GROSSE", green fog drifts through the ventilation, and the whole building loses its mind. Two people stay clear: night nurse Sarah and her colleague Klaus. Eight floors lie between them and the fire exit on the roof. WHAT IT IS A side-scrolling platformer the way the 16-bit machines did it: walk, run, jump, throw. Eight floors with five stages each, and a floor boss waiting in his own arena at the end of every one. The blue pill turns your character into the Punk Nurse – mohawk, leather jacket, syringes at the ready. WHAT IS IN IT • 8 departments from A&E to the executive floor – maternity, surgery, psychiatry, radiology, pathology, each with its own staff, its own backdrop and its own consultant • 40 stages, plus secret catacombs behind a crack in the wall • 8 boss fights where head, belly and knee each demand a different kind of attack – throwing alone will not get you through • Two characters: Sarah jumps higher, Klaus runs faster • Medicine boxes to head-butt from below, rolling hospital beds, trampoline stretchers, moving platforms • An opening in five title cards that tells you how it all started WHO IT IS FOR For teenagers and adults who grew up with the genre. There is throwing and jumping, enemies burst apart in a comic-book fashion, and the setting is a horror hospital. It is not for small children – for them there is "Zuckerrausch" from the same house. It plays fair all the same: every stage is built from a fixed pattern and looks the same on every run, so it can be learned by heart. Floors you have unlocked stay unlocked and can be practised on their own. CONTROLS On a phone the game runs inside a drawn handheld – D-pad on the left, A and B on the right, the way it used to be. A controller works too, all the way through the menus. On a computer, the keyboard. TWO LANGUAGES English and German, chosen on first start and switchable in the menu at any time. Menus, opening, department signs and ending screens are fully translated. WHAT IS NOT IN IT No ads. No purchases. No account. No data collection. The app needs no internet and does not ask for it – it makes no network connection at all. Your progress stays on the device. Made in Germany by www.MAI-DIGITAL.de.Read more

SMOOTHER ON OLDER DEVICES The game was drawing every frame with more work than it needed. Two things changed, and both were measured on an inexpensive phone rather than guessed at a desk: finished shapes are no longer kept in memory – on a phone that cost several times more than it saved – and the picture now sits exactly on the screen's pixels. SHARPER The picture used to land one pixel beside its place, so the screen had to rescale it in every single frame: needless work, and softer than it had to be. Now it sits where it belongs. MUCH FASTER The ward floor is drawn once instead of in ever…
