About

Vedute is Piranesi's Rome, plate by plate. The complete etchings of Giovanni Battista Piranesi in a reader made for architects, historians and anyone who loves the antique city — with the tools to measure what he drew. THE REFERENCE • 1,438 works in 18 series — the Vedute di Roma, the Carceri, the Antichità Romane, the Campo Marzio, Paestum and the rest — 1,039 of them with a full-resolution museum scan. All of it ships inside the app: nothing to download, nothing to stream. • Deep zoom to the etched line. See the burr, the plate mark, the paper. • Titles in 21 languages, with the original Italian always a tap away. • Where the originals are: every plate names the collections that hold it — The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Cleveland Museum of Art — with a link to the record and a citation ready to paste. • Rome on a map: 82 places, from the Colosseum to Tivoli, pinned to the sheets that show them. • A timeline of every series, 1743–1778. • The bound volumes, page by page, as they were printed. • Search in your own language and script. THE TOOLS (VEDUTE PRO) • Measure the plate. Set one reference — a standing figure, a column — and read everything else in metres, Roman feet or modules. • Perspective. Trace the architecture to its vanishing points and see where the Carceri deliberately refuse to converge. • Read the line, not the paper. Levels, inversion, palettes and raking light bring the etched line up from the sheet. • Compare impressions. States side by side, difference overlay, blink, platemark and density readings. • Collections and notes, kept in sync between your iPads through your own iCloud. • Export your work: annotated PNG, PDF contact sheets, and readings you can hand to a colleague. MADE FOR Architects and students of architecture. Art historians, print curators and collectors. Teachers preparing a lecture. Travellers who want to stand where Piranesi stood. Anyone who has ever lost an hour inside one of his plates. PRIVACY No account, no tracking, no analytics, no ads. The catalogue lives on your iPad; your notes live on your iPad and in your own iCloud, where the developer cannot see them. FREE AND PRO Free: the whole catalogue at full resolution with deep zoom, every way of browsing it, search, titles in 21 languages, provenance and museum links, and sharing a plate. Vedute Pro adds the measurement tools, perspective analysis, image processing, comparison of impressions, collections and notes with iCloud sync, citations, and export. SUBSCRIPTION TERMS Vedute Pro is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, both with a 3-day free trial, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase valid on every device signed in to your Apple Account.
