About
HVAC Checklist turns a 16-part paper troubleshooting form into a guided, on-site tool for residential split systems, heat pumps, and mini-splits. Built for working technicians, it walks you through the same sequence you already follow — customer questions, safety inspection, basic checks, electrical system, airflow, refrigeration, condensate drainage, and a final operational test — and keeps every reading organized and easy to hand off. WHY TECHS USE IT Paper checklists get lost, smudged, and left in the truck. HVAC Checklist keeps every job's data in one place on the device already in your pocket, with nothing to print and nothing to re-enter later. WHAT'S INSIDE Job & Customer Intake Capture customer name, address, visit date, indoor and outdoor temperature, equipment type, manufacturer, model, serial number, age, and refrigerant type (R-410A, R-32, R-454B, and more). Log the customer's complaint in their own words, plus prior service history, parts replaced, and refrigerant additions. Customer Questions All 14 standard intake questions — when the problem started, whether the blower or outdoor unit is running, unusual noise or odor, water leaks, ice on the coil, filter age, recent power events, prior service, error codes — with a note field for each answer. Safety Inspection A pre-service safety pass covering smoke and burning smells, damaged wiring, water intrusion, grounding, capacitor discharge, lockout/tagout, and panel reinstallation — with a built-in warning against repeatedly resetting a tripping breaker. Guided Diagnostic Checklists Symptom-based checklists you jump straight to: • System Will Not Start — thermostat, main power, and safety circuit checks • Indoor Unit Runs, Outdoor Unit Doesn't • No or Insufficient Cooling — airflow, temperature measurements, and outdoor unit checks • Frozen Evaporator Coil or Suction Line • Refrigeration System Checks — charge verification, leak detection, line-set requirements • Water Leak or Condensate Problems • Unusual Noise or Vibration • Heat Pump Not Heating Properly — including defrost cycle guidance • Final Operational Inspection before you leave the job Every item is a single tap to check off, with an optional note, and each section shows your live progress so you always know what's left. Measurement Records Structured entry for the numbers that matter: a full Electrical Measurement Record (line and control voltage, compressor and fan amperage, capacitor values, winding resistance, insulation test) and a full Cooling-System Measurement Record (dry-bulb and wet-bulb temperatures, suction and liquid pressure, superheat, subcooling, static pressure, and refrigerant added or recovered). Final Status & Documentation Select the job's final status — operating normally, temporary repair, parts needed, follow-up required, and more — and document your findings the right way: Observation, Possible Cause, and Confirmed Cause are kept separate, exactly as good service documentation should be. Instant Service Reports Generate a clean, shareable service report from the job's data in one tap — AirDrop it, text it, or email it straight from the site. Job History Every completed call is saved and searchable, so past readings, parts, and notes are always one tap away. HVAC Checklist doesn't replace your judgment — it keeps you from missing a step, forgetting a measurement, or fumbling a customer explanation, call after call.Read more
