About

Nobody goes into business because they want to spend their evenings making invoices. This one takes about a minute on your phone, and what your customer opens is a PDF that looks like it came from a company with a back office behind it. It's $9.99, one time. There's no subscription. TRY THREE FOR FREE AND SEE IF IT FITS You get three real invoices or estimates to send to real customers before you have to decide anything, which is usually enough to know whether it fits the way you work. If it does, a one-time $9.99 unlocks unlimited invoices, and nothing will ever show up on your card again. Everything you make stays yours, too. You can open it, send it out again, or export all of it whenever you want, this year or in five years, whether you ended up paying or not. MAKE IT LOOK LIKE YOUR BUSINESS Put your logo at the top, choose a color that matches the rest of your work, and pick the typeface the whole thing is set in. There are six to choose from, and they are already on every iPhone, so your invoice looks the same on whatever your customer opens it with. If you have brand guidelines, you can type your color straight in. You can set all of this up for free and see it on your own invoice. Sending it out with your branding is part of the one-time unlock. TWO LAYOUTS, AND YOU PICK WHICHEVER FITS One of them is made for designers, photographers and studios, where the invoice is part of how you present yourself to a client, and it can group the work into sections so a long job still reads clearly. The other is made for the trades, and it keeps labor and materials apart so the sales tax adds up in plain sight, which tends to save you a phone call later on. It prints the job site and the dates worked, and leaves a line for a signature. SAY HOW YOU WANT TO BE PAID Tap Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, Cash App, bank transfer, check or a card payment link, fill in your details, and they print at the bottom of the invoice so your customer knows how to pay you. Set it up once and every new invoice already has it, and if you ever leave it off, the app mentions it before you send. There's room for a note to your customer too, like a thank-you or what happens next. QUICK ENOUGH TO DO BEFORE YOU DRIVE OFF You pick the customer, type in what you did, and send it. After the first time, your customers and your usual prices are already saved, so there's barely anything left to type. An estimate turns into an invoice with one tap, and if somebody pays you a deposit it works out what's still owed. You never have to mark anything as overdue either, because it's already keeping track of that for you. It saves as you type, so if your phone dies halfway through, you won't lose any of it. NOTHING TO SIGN UP FOR There's no account to set up and no password to remember, and we won't be emailing you. Your invoices are ordinary files on your own phone, and you can export them any time into something you'll still be able to open without this app. The unlock adds a spreadsheet export for your bookkeeper, with a row for every invoice and the tax already worked out. IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU? It makes invoices, estimates and receipts, and it keeps track of what you're owed. It won't process card payments for you, chase anyone who's late, or count your hours. So if you send a handful of invoices a month and you'd like them to look right without paying every month for the privilege, it's probably a good fit. If what you really need is proper bookkeeping, you'll be better off with something bigger than this. And if anything isn't working the way it should, let us know. Someone will get back to you, and it will be a real person rather than a form.Read more

A new icon: a back pocket with an invoice tucked into it, which is a better sign of what the app does than the old mark was. The app is called Invoices on your home screen now, so it's easier to find. Everything else works exactly as it did.
