Exif Off - Metadata Remover

Photos you share can carry the exact coordinates of where you took them, the time you were there, and the phone you used. Exif Off shows you all of it and takes it out on your iPhone, without re-encoding the picture. A single shot from an iPhone can hold GPS coordinates, capture date and time, device and lens, and the name of the app you edited it with. Post it, list it for sale, or send it to someone you have just met, and that goes with it. Select up to 20 photos, read every field in plain language, and save clean copies with one tap. No account, no ads, no subscription, and no network connection. You pay once, and that is the end of it. WHAT IT DOES - Shows the metadata in each photo: GPS coordinates, capture date and time, camera make and model, lens, software, and copyright fields. Empty fields are not shown. - Removes location only, or removes all metadata. Two choices, no settings to guess at. - Handles JPEG, PNG, and HEIC. Your HEIC photos stay HEIC. - Never re-encodes the image. Only the metadata sections of the file are rewritten and the image data is copied through untouched, so the picture is identical to the original. - Saves the result as a new photo in your library and hands it to the share sheet, ready to send. - Reports every photo separately, so one problem file does not stop the batch. - Runs with no network access at all. There is no networking code in the app: nothing is uploaded, nothing is fetched, and there is nothing to sign in to. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO - It does not change the original in your Photos library. Exif Off writes a clean copy and leaves the original where it is, so you decide what to keep. The metadata is gone from the copy you export and share. - "Remove location only" also drops the XMP, IPTC, and MakerNote blocks. Those can hold coordinates of their own, and there is no safe way to lift the location out and leave the rest, so they go as a whole. Captions, keywords, and similar notes kept there go with them. If you need those, keep the original. - It does not remove the ICC color profile, not even under "Remove all metadata". That profile is what tells your screen how to render the colors, and dropping it would change how the photo looks. - The small Exif preview thumbnail follows the mode you pick, because it lives inside the Exif block. "Remove all metadata" takes that block out and the thumbnail goes with it. "Remove location only" rewrites the block instead, so the thumbnail stays. - It does not add or edit metadata. There is no way to change a capture date or attach a location. - It does not work on Live Photos, video, or RAW files. - It handles up to 20 photos per run. - The picker shows your 300 most recent photos. Older ones cannot be reached in this release. - A few unusual HEIC files keep their metadata in a layout Exif Off cannot rewrite safely. Those are reported as skipped and left untouched, and the rest of the batch still finishes. - It does not encrypt anything and it cannot protect a photo you have already sent. It removes metadata from a copy you export. What happens to that copy after that is up to you. PRIVACY Everything happens on your device. Exif Off has no account, no advertising, and no analytics or crash reporting SDK. It does not collect data of any kind, and it could not send any if it tried: the app makes no network requests, because there is no code in it that can.
