Rhea Cam

Rhea Cam turns your iPhone or iPad into a sharp webcam for your Mac and into a document scanner that makes clean, searchable PDFs. It records movies in full quality and sends them to your Mac, and it works with the Mac app: up to four cameras with a director, a camera look, Rhea Studio and live captions. Please note: the webcam, recordings and sending scans need a Mac with the Rhea Cam app on the same Wi-Fi network. The document scanner also works on its own. WEBCAM FOR YOUR VIDEO CALLS • Your device sends its camera picture over your local network to your Mac, which offers it as the camera "Rhea Cam" in FaceTime, Teams, Zoom, Meet and other apps • Choose from 480p up to 4K, or 1080p at 60 fps, depending on your device and Wi-Fi • Front or back camera, torch, zoom, tap to focus, mirror, flip and framing • Pocket mode: black screen at the lowest brightness, touches blocked, the camera keeps running; double-tap for the controls DOCUMENT SCANNER • Apple's document scanner finds the page, takes it by itself and straightens it; retake, crop or rotate pages • Scanner look removes shadows, crease shading and grey or yellowish paper, as if the page went through a flatbed scanner • Many pages become one PDF, in color, grayscale or black and white, in small, standard or high quality • Text recognition on your device makes the PDF searchable, so you can find and copy text • Documents list with thumbnails: open, share, rename, delete; also in the Files app • Send to Mac: scans wait and go to Pictures › Rhea Cam on your Mac as soon as your device is connected UP TO FOUR CAMERAS AND A DIRECTOR Connect up to four iPhones or iPads to one Mac: one at a time, picture-in-picture or side by side. The director in the Mac app switches cameras by hand, on a timer, or by voice: the speaker camera while you talk, another angle in pauses, with a cut, fade, slide or zoom. CAMERA LOOK Blur or replace your background in every app that uses Rhea Cam, improve the lighting, let follow mode keep you in the picture, and add a name banner and your logo. RECORD IN FULL QUALITY • Record on your iPhone or iPad in the best quality its camera offers, up to 4K, with or without sound • When you stop, the movie goes to Movies › Rhea Cam on your Mac MORE ON THE MAC • Rhea Studio: explainer videos of your screen with your device as the camera bubble (macOS 15 or later) • Document camera that straightens paper and whiteboards live in the picture • Teleprompter that follows your voice, and meeting translation and minutes • Live translated captions in the picture (macOS 26 or later) • Effects: color filters, face stickers, funny mirrors and party effects HOW IT WORKS 1. Open Rhea Cam on your Mac and allow its camera extension once in System Settings. 2. Open Rhea Cam on your iPhone or iPad, allow camera and local network access, and tap your Mac. 3. In your video call app, choose "Rhea Cam" as the camera. REQUIREMENTS • iPhone or iPad with the Rhea Cam app • A Mac with the Rhea Cam app (macOS 13 or later; Rhea Studio needs macOS 15, live captions macOS 26) • Both devices on the same local network • Keep Rhea Cam open while streaming: iOS stops the camera when the device locks. Use pocket mode instead of locking • The live stream sends video only. Your call uses your Mac's microphone as usual. PRIVACY No account, no ads, no tracking, and no server in between. The live video goes directly to your Mac, encrypted with WebRTC. Recordings and scans go only to your own Mac on your local network. Scanning and text recognition run on your iPhone or iPad; captions, the camera look and effects are processed on your Mac with Apple's on-device technology.
