Gear Plan: Camera Kit

Gear Plan builds a kit from gear you register yourself and shows its total weight and focal length coverage. It also works as a final check before you head out. FOCAL LENGTH COVERAGE (35MM EQUIVALENT) Bodies and lenses are matched by mount, then converted to 35mm equivalent. Zooms are drawn as ranges and primes as points on a single bar, so the focal lengths you have not covered stand out immediately. These combinations are included automatically: • Teleconverters — focal length and max aperture • APS-C crop on a full-frame body • APS-C lenses on a full-frame body • Crop zoom on fixed-lens cameras • Effective pixels after an APS-C crop WEIGHT Total weight for a kit, across camera bodies, lenses, teleconverters and other gear. ENTERING GEAR You can record a wide range of specifications for each piece of gear. Focal length and weight are what the calculations run on. Everything you enter is kept in Gear History, which grows into a database of your own equipment — from the next kit onward you simply pick from it. Makers and mounts autocomplete from what you have entered before. MANAGING KITS Every kit's weight and coverage bar is stacked in one list, so kits can be compared directly. Pin, archive and delete kits, and restore deleted ones. Export and import everything as JSON. GEAR TYPES Camera bodies, lenses, teleconverters, fixed-lens cameras, and other equipment such as tripods and flashes.
