Last Christmas you found out what you had spent in January. That is the problem this app exists to fix. Set a budget for each person you buy for. The big number at the top of the screen is what you have left, and it moves the moment you mark a gift as bought — not when you get round to a spreadsheet, and not when the statement arrives. Everyone gets their own limit, so one generous afternoon for your sister does not quietly eat your father's budget. Each gift moves through three states — idea, bought, wrapped — and a gift only counts as money spent once you have actually bought it. Ideas still sitting on the list are shown separately as planned spend, which is how you find out you are heading over budget while it is still avoidable. When the two together pass your limit, the app tells you plainly: your planned gifts would push you over budget. There is a filter for the people still to buy for, one for anybody over budget, and a share button that turns everything unbought into a plain shopping list you can send to yourself. Stuck on what to get someone? Roll the die. There are 58 written gift ideas behind it, each with a line explaining why it works, and the roll only offers things that fit what is left of that person's budget. A ten-pound remainder never suggests a weekend away. Everything lives in one file on your phone. No account, no sign-in, no sync, no analytics, and nothing to lose signal from — it works in a shop queue and it works on Christmas Eve. You pay 3.99 once.
