Put your headphones in, press start, and hear your own voice a fraction of a second late. For a lot of people who stammer, that small delay makes speech easier to control. DAF Fluency Loop is a delayed auditory feedback tool that does one thing and does it reliably. No novelty effects, no cartoon voices, no account. WHAT IT DOES A clean loop, with the delay under your control. Anywhere from 0 to 250 milliseconds. Four presets to start from and a slider to find your own number while you are actually talking. It starts where most people start. The screen says so: around 50 to 100 ms. You are not left guessing at a number you have never heard of. It tells you where the sound is going. The output card names the actual device — AirPods Pro, your wired earphones, whatever is connected — and re-checks on demand. If the audio is routed to the loudspeaker it will not start, because the microphone would hear the playback and howl. Frequency altered feedback too. Shift the pitch of the voice you hear back by up to four semitones. Some people respond better to that than to delay alone, and the two combine. A session timer, and a log of minutes. Not recordings — minutes. Session lengths and the delay you used, so you can keep a practice routine honest. WHAT IT IS NOT It is not a treatment. It does not diagnose, treat or cure anything, and results vary a great deal from person to person. If speech is affecting your life, work with a qualified speech and language therapist — DAF is most useful alongside professional guidance, not instead of it. It is not a recorder.
