Kariwari: Estimate, Then Split

"We haven't booked the hotel, so we don't know the cost yet" — and yet the bill-splitting conversation has already started. Kariwari is a bill-splitting app that lets you include unconfirmed costs as estimates. Replace them with actual amounts once they're set, and Kariwari works out who pays whom. ■ Made for ・Planning a trip: hotel and train are still tentative, but you want to know the cost per person ・Group dinners and events where the organizer's advance payments and upcoming costs get tangled ・That "probably about ¥10,000 each" that never turns into a real settlement ■ How Kariwari thinks Costs are managed in two stages. ・Tentative (estimated): not yet booked or paid. Share a rough estimate ・Confirmed: paid. Record the actual amount and who paid Tentative costs feed the "estimated per person" figure. Only confirmed costs go into the settlement. Rough numbers and real numbers never get mixed. ■ Features ・Projects: manage costs per dinner, trip, or event ・Invites: by code, link, or QR. Tapping the link or scanning the QR opens the join screen directly ・Join notifications: get notified in the project list and by an app notification when a member joins ・Friends without the app: add them by name as "not joined" members. They can take over the name when they join later ・Tentative ⇄ confirmed: estimates are prefilled when you enter the actual amount, and items can be reverted ・Settlement: who pays whom, with as few transfers as possible ・Share results: send the settlement as plain text to any messaging app ・Realtime sync: members' entries show up on everyone's screen right away ・Sign in with Apple only: no email registration, no password ■ Pricing Free to use (up to 10 projects, 20 expense items per project; invited members are always free and unlimited). Kariwari Pro (monthly or yearly subscription, with a 7-day free trial) removes the limits on creating projects and adding items, and unlocks adding members from your friends list, friend notes, and customization (theme color, font, app icon). Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and are charged to your Apple Account. You can manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings. ■ Privacy We only store account info (a user ID from Sign in with Apple and your display name) and the expense data you enter.
