About
Ponk Mime is a geometric design bench for road and light-rail alignments — a study tool that puts horizontal and vertical alignment geometry in your hands and recalculates it as fast as you can move a point. HORIZONTAL ALIGNMENT Place points of intersection, set a radius, and the app fits clothoid transition spirals and a circular arc at each turn. Drag any PI or radius handle and the whole axis re-solves under your finger — no calculate step. Tangent length, external distance, degree of curve, superelevation runoff, lateral acceleration, and stopping sight distance all update per frame. VERTICAL PROFILE Grades and PVI points sit alongside the plan view, with parabolic vertical curves, K-values, high and low points, and cut-fill hatching updating live as you work. Place a photograph as an underlay and trace directly over an existing junction or a piece of terrain. GEOMETRIC CHECKS A built-in checker evaluates the alignment against standard geometric criteria: minimum radius, governing spiral length, crest and sag sight distance, relative gradient of the superelevation runoff, and ride-quality limits on lateral acceleration and jerk. Every finding names the criterion that governed, shows the shortfall in metres, and offers a one-tap remedy. ALWAYS-LIVE READOUTS The superelevation diagram, ride-quality chart, curve inspector, and stationing table stay tied to the current geometry, so changing a radius changes all of them at once. OPEN AND PORTABLE Alignments are stored in a plain-text format you can read, edit by hand, and keep. Export a full stationing sheet or a superelevation card to your photo library in one tap. FULLY OFFLINE No account, no sync, no network requests of any kind. Every number is computed on your device. FOR STUDY AND PRELIMINARY WORK Ponk Mime is a teaching and exploration tool for civil and highway engineering students and for engineers wanting a quick geometric study away from the desktop. It is not certified by any highway authority or engineering body, produces no drawing of record, and is not a substitute for qualified design software. Verify any result in professional software and have it signed by a licensed engineer before it is used on a real project.Read more
Ponk Mime is a geometric design bench for road and light-rail alignments — a
study tool that puts horizontal and vertical alignment geometry in your hands
and recalculates it as fast as you can move a point.
HORIZONTAL ALIGNMENT
Place points of intersection, set a radius, and the app fits clothoid transition
spirals and a circular arc at each turn. Drag any PI or radius handle and the
whole axis re-solves under your finger — no calculate step. Tangent length,
external distance, degree of curve, superelevation runoff, lateral acceleration,
and stopping sight distance all update per frame.
VERTICAL PROFILE
Grades and PVI points sit alongside the plan view, with parabolic vertical
curves, K-values, high and low points, and cut-fill hatching updating live as
you work. Place a photograph as an underlay and trace directly over an existing
junction or a piece of terrain.
GEOMETRIC CHECKS
A built-in checker evaluates the alignment against standard geometric criteria:
minimum radius, governing spiral length, crest and sag sight distance, relative
gradient of the superelevation runoff, and ride-quality limits on lateral
acceleration and jerk. Every finding names the criterion that governed, shows
the shortfall in metres, and offers a one-tap remedy.
ALWAYS-LIVE READOUTS
The superelevation diagram, ride-quality chart, curve inspector, and stationing
table stay tied to the current geometry, so changing a radius changes all of
them at once.
OPEN AND PORTABLE
Alignments are stored in a plain-text format you can read, edit by hand, and
keep. Export a full stationing sheet or a superelevation card to your photo
library in one tap.
FULLY OFFLINE
No account, no sync, no network requests of any kind. Every number is computed
on your device.
