About

A first step toward a livelier life. Start by drinking a little less of the sweet stuff, and aim for a healthier body. Soda Cap logs your sugary drinks and visualizes how much sugar you have had in the last 24 hours. ■ A serious risk from sugary drinks Drinking large amounts of sugary drinks over time can lead to ketoacidosis, a dangerous condition, even in people who have never been told they have diabetes. In Japan it is known as soft drink ketosis, or "PET bottle syndrome". Symptoms such as thirst, passing more urine, weight loss and tiredness can come on suddenly. If it gets worse, nausea, abdominal pain and impaired consciousness can follow. ■ Worked out from your body Just enter your age, weight, height and a few other details, and Soda Cap works out a daily sugar guideline from the official standards of each of 30 countries and regions and WHO guidance. ■ Logging takes three seconds Choose what you drank and how much. That's it. You can also log from Control Centre and Siri. The Home Screen widget lets you check the current level. With the Recent drinks and Frequent drinks widgets, just tap a drink and choose the amount to log it. ■ Log any drink Search for a drink by name, or scan its barcode. Barcodes not in the app are looked up in Open Food Facts, a product database. If it isn't there, enter the numbers from the nutrition label and Soda Cap works out the sugar for you. ■ Matched to where you live The same cola can contain a different amount of sugar depending on the country. Choose your region, and Soda Cap uses that country's sugar standard and the values of drinks sold there. 30 countries and regions are covered, all taken from official food composition tables and manufacturers' published values. If yours isn't listed, choose the international standard. ■ See the shape of your day The timeline shows when you drank what, so the times you tend to drink start to stand out. ■ A month at a glance A calendar shows your sugar intake for the whole month. Each day shows its own container, so the days you stayed under the guideline and the days you went over are visible at once. Tap a day to see what you drank. ■ Choose your container and colours Four containers: plastic bottle, can, glass bottle, and glass. Eight theme palettes. State is shown by symbol as well as colour. You can also choose the first day of the week and the calendar system (Gregorian, Japanese era, Buddhist, or Minguo). The Lock Screen can show the container and the time until it next goes down. ■ Your records stay with you No account. No ads. No usage analytics. A copy of your records is kept in your own iCloud, so a new phone picks up where you left off. Nothing is sent to the developer's servers. You can export your records as CSV. ■ Languages 日本語 / English / 中文(简体・繁體)/ 한국어 / Español / Français / Deutsch / Italiano / Português (Brasil) / Dansk / Norsk / Svenska / ไทย / Nederlands / Polski / Türkçe / Bahasa Indonesia ――― Soda Cap provides a general guideline and is not medical advice. If you are being treated for diabetes or another condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or the user is a growing child, follow your doctor or dietitian. Intended for ages 6 and up; under 18 with parental supervision.Read more
