About
Furranium is two things for the animals you live with: Paw Hunt, a game for cats, and Pet Cam, which turns a spare phone into a pet monitor. PET CAM — A SPARE PHONE BECOMES A PET MONITOR Prop an old iPhone where your pet spends the day. It watches for a cat or a dog on the phone itself, keeps a short clip of each sighting, and lays them out as your pet's day. Nothing is uploaded to be analysed; the recognition runs on the phone. • Watch live from another iPhone — on your Wi-Fi or from anywhere • Pair by scanning a code once. No account, nothing to sign up for • Invite family with a link, and remove anyone by name • Every paired phone is told at once when a new phone starts watching • The picture is encrypted end to end between your phones. Our relay passes it along and cannot see it • Clips stay on your phones: keep them a week, a month, or while there's room • A light for dark rooms, if you want it • Optionally keep a copy of the timeline in your own iCloud. Off by default PAW HUNT — A GAME FOR CATS Paw Hunt is a hunting game built around how cats actually see. Cats are dichromats: blue and yellow read clearly, red collapses to grey. Their acuity is roughly 20/100, so at the distance a cat sits from a screen, fine detail never resolves at all. What they do have is exceptional motion detection. So every target here is high-contrast, and its movement does the work. SEVEN QUARRY, EACH WITH ITS OWN RHYTHM • Feather wand — a ribbon on a sixteen-link chain, with a tip that lags and whips • Laser point — burst, pause, reverse. Peak arousal, hardest to pin • Skitter bugs — a colony on a tripod gait that scatters on contact • Night moth — circles the light, then settles with its wings shut • Edge mice — burrow at the screen edge, peek, then break cover and dash • Ball of yarn — rolls, banks off the walls, and trails the thread it unwinds • Pond fish — drift under real water, where a paw sends ripples through the light A HUNT YOUR CAT CAN WIN Prey that is never caught builds real frustration. Paw Hunt tracks how your cat is doing and steers the catch rate toward roughly two in five — easier after a dry spell, harder once they start dominating. Every hunt runs in three acts and ends on a caught target, because a session that stops mid-chase leaves a cat wound up. IT NOTICES WHEN THEY LOSE INTEREST Attention wanders. When it does, the quarry acts wounded, drifts toward wherever the last paw landed, then breaks cover across the screen. Thirty seconds of nothing and it changes species entirely, because novelty is what brings a bored cat back. WHAT YOUR CAT LIKES Every hunt is recorded. Over a few sessions the app ranks each quarry by catches a minute — not by raw catches, so a quarry you happened to play for an hour cannot beat one that is simply better. You get a straight answer to the only question that matters: what does my cat actually work for? BUILT FOR PAWS The controls lock during a hunt so a paw cannot press them. The screen never sleeps. Sound plays through the silent switch, because the lure chirps are half of what holds a cat's attention. And the app shows you how to lock the screen to itself, so a stray paw cannot leave. NO ACCOUNT, NO ADS, NOTHING COLLECTED There is nothing to sign up for. Your cat's history, and everything Pet Cam records, stays on your devices. No advertising, no tracking, no analytics. Best on an iPad. A cat's paw pad is about three centimetres across — on a phone that is over half the screen, and on a tablet it is a fifth. The game adapts to both, but a tablet gives them room to hunt. Furranium is a Jovian Scientific brand. Built better for the furry ones.
