About
Sunfall tells you when the good light happens wherever you are, where on the horizon it will come from, and what the moon is doing once the sun has gone. Open it, and you get one clear answer: what the light is doing right now, and what happens next. A twenty-four-hour sky ribbon shows the sun's path flowing straight into the moon's, with golden hour and blue hour visible as bands of warm color. Drag the sky sideways to move through time and see any moment you like. Light does not stop at sunset, so neither does Sunfall. It shows the moon's altitude and bearing, its phase and how much of it is lit, and when it rises and sets. If you shoot the Milky Way, you want a new moon and a dark sky; if you shoot landscapes at night, you want a full moon high overhead. Sunfall tells you which one you are getting. Every time is calculated on your device using the NOAA solar position algorithm. There is no server and no account. Searching for a place by name uses Apple's geocoding service; everything else, including all calculations, works without any connection at all. Saved places keep working in a canyon with no bars. WHAT YOU GET - Sunrise, sunset and solar noon - Golden hour and blue hour, morning and evening, with durations - Civil, nautical and astronomical twilight - A continuous 24-hour sky ribbon you can drag through time - The moon: altitude, bearing, phase, percent lit, moonrise and moonset - Sunrise and sunset bearings, so you know which way to point the camera - Any date, so you can plan ahead - Any place: search for a city, save it, and see its light in its own local time - An optional reminder 30 minutes before evening golden hour PRIVACY Your location is used on your device to perform calculations and is never transmitted, stored on a server, or shared. There is no analytics, no tracking, and no account. The app requests location access and nothing else. The only network call it ever makes is the place search you type yourself, which Apple's geocoder answers.Read more
