About

The summit book, without the pencil on a string. Summitry is the summit book on your phone. On top of a peak, on a pass or at a hut, you sign the book: GPS confirms you are really there, and your entry goes into that summit's book, next to everyone who was up there before you. You read who signed, when, and what the day was like. YOUR LOGBOOK Every entry also goes into your own logbook: the summit, the date, the height, the metres climbed, photos, the conditions, who was with you and a few words about the day. Plus lists to work through, from the Swiss 4000ers to the highest point of every canton, and lists of your own to share. COLLECT AND COMPARE Every summit you sign goes into your collection, sorted by height, by date or by rarity – some summits hardly anyone signs. On a friend's profile you see which summits you have in common and which only one of you has. YOUR STATISTICS How many summits, how many different ones, how many days out and which was the highest. Plus your entries per year, summits by elevation band, and how a year spreads over the months and the activities, from a hike to an alpine tour. YOUR EARLIER TOURS Connect Strava and Summitry finds the summits on your tracks. You check the matches and decide what goes into your book as an entry. A GPX file from any watch or app works too. Summits from before Summitry you add by hand; they are marked as claimed and visible to you alone. ALSO WITHOUT SIGNAL You can sign on top with no reception. The entry waits on your phone and lands in the summit book as soon as you are back in range. Your region's summits take only a few megabytes, and a whole country's map can be downloaded for the way. It covers the Alps from France to Slovenia. TOGETHER Add who was with you, and they can take the summit into their own logbook. Follow friends, read their entries and leave a comment. What you share is yours to decide, entry by entry. MEMORIES TO TAKE WITH YOU Any entry becomes a poster with the real skyline of its summit or a picture to share, and a year becomes a PDF of your logbook. Your whole book exports as GPX, CSV or JSON at any time. 135 000 summits, passes and huts in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, Italy, France and Slovenia. Swiss names and heights from swisstopo, elsewhere from OpenStreetMap. In English, German, French and Italian, light and dark.Read more
