About
iTao is a vocabulary app for people who live in Japan. ■ Capture words by voice The words textbooks skip are the ones you meet by ear first. Press the button, say what you heard, and AI turns it into a card with reading, meaning and an example — straight into your review queue. ■ 800+ real-life words, by scene Konbini, clinic, city hall, renting, taxes, nursery, disasters… entries are chosen scene by scene for situations where not knowing the word actually costs you, with a note on why textbooks never teach it. ■ From kana to N1 Stroke-order animations for hiragana and katakana, then JLPT N5–N1 vocabulary, kanji and grammar. ■ Reviews you can keep up with (FSRS) Science-based spaced repetition, capped at 30 cards a day — no crushing backlog. One reminder a day, at the time you choose, only when there is something due. ■ Shadow and get scored Listen to a model sentence, say it back, and AI tells you whether you would be understood and what to fix. ■ English, in the same place Emails, meetings, interviews, airports, clinics, renting — the English you need while living in Japan, learned the same way. ■ Explanations in 7 languages Japanese, Chinese, English, Vietnamese, Burmese, Korean and Hindi. Pick the language you learn and the language you read explanations in separately. Every word and example plays back at a natural, unhurried pace.Read more
