About
An offline bench for raising plants from seed: a shelf of seed lots, a set of growing methods, and a model that tells you the truth about both — and where a decision has a physical answer, you give it by hand. SET IT BY HAND Sowing depth is set by dragging the seed down a cut through the mix, with the band this lot wants marked on it and a ruler beside it. The germination map is dragged and pinched: temperature across, moisture up, every point of the plate the model run for that pair, dark where this lot will not come up and lit where it will. Counting is done by running a finger across the seeds themselves, each one drawn, each turning into a sprout as you pass. EVERY BATCH ENDS IN A FIGURE YOU EARNED A batch is a seed lot, a method, a count and a set of conditions. The forecast says how many should come up and how long the bulk will take before a seed goes in. Then you log the days and the model re-forecasts from the real pace, not from a table. Warmth, moisture, light, depth and medium are scored separately against what that lot wants, and the four ways a batch is lost — drying out, water-logging, too cold, kept dark when it needed light — are ranked while there is time to fix them. It closes with a germination rate, a survival rate after transplanting, a grade, and the conditions that helped and hurt — from your own archive, not generic advice. EVERY SEED LOT IS A SET OF MEASUREMENTS Optimal temperature, moisture and depth, each with its own tolerance; light or darkness to break dormancy; days to germinate and days to transplant; what the lot can do at its best. Eight families ship with the app and behave like themselves: an onion comes up as one looped cotyledon, a pea leaves its cotyledons underground, a squash carries the empty coat up on the tip of the shoot. EVERY METHOD IS A COMPROMISE Six media — seed compost, coir, paper towel, rockwool, vermiculite, water glass — each with its own water holding, air, drying and rot behaviour, and a method adds its own risks, pace and handling loss on top. Build your own and it joins the comparison. PRACTISE THE HAND A sowing drill: six seeds, six wells, thirty seconds, and where your finger lets go is how deep the seed goes. The band shows for the first two, then goes. It is scored by the same model your batches run on, so a clean tray means something — and a good round can become a real batch on the spot. PLAY THE RUN FORWARD Drag across the plate and the run runs: seed, split coat, radicle down, the shoot hooked through the surface, seed leaves open, true leaves out. On a running batch the days you logged show the count you wrote down, and the rest comes off the model's curve. THEN PUT TWO RUNS SIDE BY SIDE Pick any two batches and wipe between them with a finger: same lot, two ways of sowing it, drawn as two plates. Underneath, every condition and both rates on shared axes, with the one that made the difference named. ALSO INCLUDED - A seed tray for a home screen: every running batch in its own well, at the stage it reached - Press and hold a well to log the day without leaving the screen - Fourteen bench settings drawn as what they are, from cold frame to stratify box - A catalogue of seed lots to edit and extend, and scenarios to apply to any batch - Emergence charts over your logged days, and an exportable card for a finished run - Nine bench badges, a tier track, Celsius or Fahrenheit, millimetres or inches FULLY OFFLINE No account, no network, no ads, no purchases, no tracking. An offline bench for raising plants from seed: a shelf of seed lots, a set of growing methods, and a model that tells you the truth about both — and where a decision has a physical answer, you give it by hand.
SET IT BY HAND
Sowing depth is set by dragging the seed down a cut through the mix, with the band this lot wants marked on it and a ruler beside it. The germination map is dragged and pinched: temperature across, moisture up, every point of the plate the model run for that pair, dark where this lot will not come up and lit where it will. Counting is done by running a finger across the seeds themselves, each one drawn, each turning into a sprout as you pass.
EVERY BATCH ENDS IN A FIGURE YOU EARNED
A batch is a seed lot, a method, a count and a set of conditions.
EVERY SEED LOT IS A SET OF MEASUREMENTS
Optimal temperature, moisture and depth, each with its own tolerance; light or darkness to break dormancy; days to germinate and days to transplant; what the lot can do at its best. Eight families ship with the app and behave like themselves: an onion comes up as one looped cotyledon, a pea leaves its cotyledons underground, a squash carries the empty coat up on the tip of the shoot.
EVERY METHOD IS A COMPROMISE
Six media — seed compost, coir, paper towel, rockwool, vermiculite, water glass — each with its own water holding, air, drying and rot behaviour, and a method adds its own risks, pace and handling loss on top. Build your own and it joins the comparison.
PRACTISE THE HAND
A sowing drill: six seeds, six wells, thirty seconds, and where your finger lets go is how deep the seed goes. The band shows for the first two, then goes. It is scored by the same model your batches run on, so a clean tray means something — and a good round can become a real batch on the spot.
PLAY THE RUN FORWARD

THEN PUT TWO RUNS SIDE BY SIDE
Pick any two batches and wipe between them with a finger: same lot, two ways of sowing it, drawn as two plates. Underneath, every condition and both rates on shared axes, with the one that made the difference named.
