About
Welding Symbols Pro is the only dedicated welding symbols app on the App Store. A complete chart of the basic weld symbols, a live symbol builder that reads any symbol back in plain English, and a quiz that drills you for the print and for the test. Pay once. Works offline forever. THE BUILDER IS THE DECODER Set what you see on the print: system, weld type, side, size, depth and throat, groove angle, root opening, length and pitch, contour and finish, weld all around, field weld, melt through, tail reference. The symbol draws itself live, and below it the app speaks the exact sentence a welder would say. No camera, no AI, no guessing. Illegal combinations are blocked with a one-line reason, so you also learn what a symbol can never say. THE FULL CHART, ONE TAP DEEP All 16 basic weld symbols: fillet, square, V, bevel, U, J, flare V, flare bevel, scarf, plug and slot, spot and projection, seam, stud, back and backing, surfacing, and the A2.4:2020 edge symbol. Plus every supplementary symbol, the finish letters C, G, H, M, P, R and U, and a map of where each dimension goes. Every symbol opens a detail view with a plain-English meaning and a cross-section of the finished joint. Search for "bevel", "flag", "G" or "pitch" and go. AWS AND ISO, BOTH Symbols in AWS A2.4 style and in ISO 2553 System A and System B: the dashed identification line, a and z fillet sizes, inches and millimeters. Built for prints that cross the ocean. QUIZ FOR THE TEST Read mode shows a symbol and four sentences. Build mode shows a sentence and four symbols. Ten-question rounds, a streak counter, and a timed 90-second warmup for CWI Part A. Every question is generated from the same engine that draws the chart, so all 16 basic symbols come up. BUILT FOR THE TRADE · 100 percent offline. Nothing to sign in to, nothing to sync. · One price. No subscription, no ads, no account. Anonymous usage statistics only, never what you build. · Fractions first: 1/4 in reads as 1/4 in, not 0.25. · Share any symbol as a clean image card for an apprentice or a group chat. · iPhone and iPad. WHO IT IS FOR Welders and fitters reading shop drawings. Fabricators, ironworkers and boilermakers. Welding students in every blueprint reading class. CWI candidates warming up for Part A. THE FINE PRINT Educational reference. The drawing and its notes govern; when in doubt, ask the engineer of record. This app never gives welding procedure, machine settings, or strength advice. Notation semantics follow AWS A2.4:2020 and ISO 2553:2019, explained in the app's own words and drawings. Not affiliated with AWS or ISO.Read more
