Choose the scene, not a page of camera jargon. • Stage Balanced — Your starting point for the whole show. • Spotlight — For bright faces against a dark stage. • Fast Action — For choreography and fast-moving performances. • Soft Ballad — For slower songs and softer light. Each preset gives you a starting point you can adjust to the stage in front of you. KEEP YOUR STAR IN FOCUS Turn on tracking and tap the performer. Focus follows your chosen subject as they move, so you can concentrate on framing the shot. GET IT RIGHT. LOCK IT IN. Happy with the picture? Lock your settings and shooting mode with one tap. Brightness, white balance and zoom stay out of reach of accidental touches. Tap the lock again when you're ready to adjust. YOUR LENS. YOUR CALL. A sudden lens switch can change the shot when you least expect it. Keep automatic lens switching off to reduce those surprises, or turn it on and let the system choose a lens for low light or close subjects. With switching off, a telephoto lens may not focus on subjects that are too close. Choose smooth zoom, or let the slider gently settle at the native focal lengths. TAKE A BREAK. KEEP THE RECORDING. Pause between songs. Resume when the show picks up. Save it all as one video instead of a collection of clips. You can also take a photo while recording, without stopping the video. MAKE IT YOURS Add your handle, the show or a date with a two-line watermark. Pick from nine positions, see it in the viewfinder and have it saved directly into your photos and videos. A STEADIER VIEW. THE SOUND OF THE NIGHT. Choose Off, Standard or Enhanced stabilization to suit how you're filming. Enhanced stabilization reduces more shake, with a narrower field of view. Want a different approach to live sound? Optional enhanced audio reduces the influence of automatic gain and voice processing in loud environments. Keep it off if you prefer the default recording behavior. MORE ROOM FOR THE MOMENT Record in up to 4K at 60 fps, enable HDR video on supported devices, and choose from the photo resolutions your camera supports. Quick-launch options help you get to the camera when the show is about to start. BUILT AFTER A NIGHT THAT DESERVED BETTER FansCamera began at a concert. I brought my iPhone to record it, but couldn't find an app that felt right for the job. I spent too much of the night wrestling with settings. So I spent more than half a year building the camera I wished I'd had: working through the details, refining the controls and thinking about what happens when you're actually standing in the crowd.
