Illumine - Bible & Prayer

Illumine is a daily Bible, prayer and reflection app that works entirely offline. Every morning it lays out one short path: a verse, a reflection, a prayer, and a single question to sit with. Five minutes if that is what you have. Longer if it isn't. THE DAILY PATH One verse chosen for you, drawn from a library of anchors and shaped by how you answered a few questions when you set the app up. A short reflection written for this project. A prayer you can read aloud. One question, and somewhere to keep your answer. The same date always produces the same path. Nothing is generated, nothing changes under you, and nothing needs a connection. EIGHT TRANSLATIONS, ALL PUBLIC DOMAIN King James and the World English Bible are built into the app and available from first launch, with no download at all. The American Standard, Young's Literal, Geneva, Douay-Rheims, Wycliffe and Darby translations download a book at a time and stay on your device. READ, MARK, RETURN A reader built for long passages rather than verse cards. Five highlight colours, notes, and a long-press menu that keeps a verse without leaving the page. Adjustable type, and three themes — light, dark, and sepia for reading at night. LISTEN Any chapter, plan or story read aloud, at half speed up to double. A sleep timer that fades out rather than stopping mid-sentence. Step by verse rather than by seconds, because a verse is the unit that means something. THE CHURCH YEAR A real liturgical calendar: eight seasons and around fifty-five feasts, computed rather than looked up, so Easter and everything that moves with it are right in any year. Choose the tradition closest to yours and the calendar follows it. EXPLORE Reading plans, study challenges, listening plans, and eight Illuminated Stories — original retellings, ten pages each, narrated if you want them read to you. ASK A pastoral library of sixty-one topics, searched on your device. Ask a question in your own words and Illumine finds what scripture and the tradition have said about it. Nothing you type is sent anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to be sent. Questions that suggest crisis are recognised on the device and answered with support and a helpline for your region — never with a verse and nothing else. WIDGETS Seven of them. Four for the home screen, three for the lock screen: today's verse, the lamp, your streak, the season. They update from the app's own data and never phone home. KEEP GOING A streak that counts what you actually did, fourteen achievements, and a calendar of every day you finished. WHAT ILLUMINE DOES NOT DO No account. No sign-in. No ads. No subscription. No analytics, no crash reporting, no attribution software, no tracking of any kind. The only request the app ever makes is for a translation you choose to download, and it carries nothing about you. Everything you write, keep, mark or answer stays on your phone, and leaves when you delete the app.
