LAPLACE Persona Tracker turns your iPhone or iPad into a face-tracking camera for LAPLACE Persona, the VTubing app for Mac, Windows and Linux. Point the front camera at yourself and your Live2D or VRM avatar on the desktop follows your expressions, head movement and eyes in real time. HOW IT WORKS • ARKit tracks all 52 facial expression shapes plus head rotation and position, up to 60 times a second. • Tracking streams over your local Wi-Fi network straight to the desktop. No cloud, no account, no internet connection required. • Tap Connect and the app finds LAPLACE Persona on your network. If your network blocks discovery, type the address shown in the desktop's tracking panel instead. • Sit the way you stream and tap Calibrate to make that pose neutral. Reset it at any time. The app remembers your desktop and your calibration the next time it opens. PRIVACY FIRST • Camera video never leaves the device. Only tracking values are sent, and only to the computer you chose. • The preview draws a wireframe mesh of your face, not the camera feed, so nothing from your room is on screen. • Turn on Normalized Face Mesh to draw your expressions on a generic face instead of your own, for when the phone itself is on camera. • No analytics, no advertising, no data collection. BUILT FOR LONG STREAMS • Save Energy dims the screen and pauses the preview a few seconds after your last touch, while tracking keeps streaming. Tap to wake. • Works in portrait and landscape, on iPhone and iPad. TWO STREAMERS, TWO PHONES The desktop can pin each tracking source to a specific phone, so two people can drive two avatars on one computer. REQUIREMENTS • LAPLACE Persona for Mac, Windows or Linux, available at laplace.live/persona, with a tracking source of type LAPLACE Persona Tracker turned on. • The phone and the computer on the same local network. The app asks for Local Network permission the first time it connects. • iOS 17 or later. Face tracking needs Face ID or an A12 Bionic chip or newer; every iPhone that runs iOS 17 qualifies.
