About
Every screen time app has the same hole in it: the off switch is on the phone you are trying to put down. You tap "15 more minutes." You flip the toggle. You win the argument with yourself, again. Keyaway moves the key out of the phone. The app makes you a key — a code on a sheet of paper. You print it and put it somewhere you have to stand up for: the front door, a kitchen drawer, a roommate's desk. When you reach for a locked app, Keyaway holds it shut. To get in, you walk to your key and scan it with the camera. If you don't feel like walking, you didn't really need to open it. That's the whole idea. WHAT YOU GET FREE, FOREVER • Lock any apps, categories or websites • Your paper key — print it or save it • Unlock by scanning: 15, 30 or 60 minutes • 3 emergency passes a month, usable straight from the block screen • A weekly record: how often you reached, how often you actually walked KEYAWAY PRO — ONE PAYMENT, NO SUBSCRIPTION • Unlimited lock groups, each on its own schedule • More than one key: home, office, a friend's place • Block deleting locked apps HONEST ABOUT THE LIMITS Turning off Screen Time access in Settings unlocks everything. Keyaway makes that annoying, not impossible — and it tells you so on the first screen instead of pretending otherwise. A new key takes 12 hours to start working. If it were instant, the lock would mean nothing. Emergency passes cannot be bought. Three a month, and that is all there is. PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION No account. No server. No ads, no analytics, no tracking. iOS never even tells Keyaway which apps you picked — it hands over tokens that cannot be read back as names. Your key is random bytes made on your phone and never sent anywhere. Requires iOS 17 and Screen Time access.Read more

HONEST ABOUT THE LIMITS
Turning off Screen Time access in Settings unlocks everything. Keyaway makes that annoying, not impossible — and it tells you so on the first screen instead of pretending otherwise.
A new key takes 12 hours to start working. If it were instant, the lock would mean nothing.

This update fixes what Pro claims, not how the app behaves. Version 1.0 listed three things under Keyaway Pro that were never built: writing a key to an NFC tag, strict paper mode, and full history instead of the last 7 days. They are now gone from the description and from the purchase screen. If one of those is why you bought Pro, Apple can refund it — ask through Report a Problem and we will not contest it. Pro is what it has actually been all along: unlimited lock groups each on its own schedule, more than one key, and blocking the deletion of locked apps. Everything free stays free, and …
