Tito Cam

Tito Cam is a camera for producing digital evidence. Photos, videos and audio meant to be attached to an inspection or an administrative procedure. THE PROOF IS NOT THE OVERLAY Apps of this kind burn a date and a place onto the picture. That overlay is forgeable and does not survive expert examination, so here it exists only to be read at a glance. The proof is the cryptographic layer: when a capture ends, the app computes the SHA-256 of the file, chains that hash to the previous record's, and signs it with a key generated inside the device's Secure Enclave, which cannot be extracted from it. Attention: despite the developers' efforts to ensure the integrity of the evidence, there are still no cases of these captures being validated in judicial proceedings. A THIRD-PARTY TIMESTAMP With a network, the hash is submitted to an RFC 3161 timestamp authority. Back comes a token that any expert can verify with OpenSSL, without the app and without having to trust whoever wrote it. Only the hash travels: the media never leaves the device. IT ALWAYS CAPTURES With no network, no GPS, a wrong clock or a low battery, the app captures just the same. What changes is the level of confidence declared in the record, never whether it can be recorded. The definitive timestamp arrives by itself when the network comes back. THE ORIGINAL IS NEVER TOUCHED No filter, no trimming, no colour correction, no re-encoding. The original file stays as it was born, and the copy carrying the visible stamp is a separate file with a hash of its own. There is no importing from the photo library: a record is born inside the app, in real time, or it does not exist. A PDF CERTIFICATE Every record produces a certificate with the metadata, the hash and its algorithm, the state of the timestamp, key frames from the video, a map of the point of capture, and verification instructions in the footer. It comes out as PDF/A-2b, ready to be filed. TRANSCRIPTION ON THE DEVICE The audio of videos and statements is transcribed on the device itself, with timecodes, in Markdown. No audio is sent anywhere to be transcribed. PROCEDURES AND IDENTIFICATION Body, unit, officer and registration number live in Settings. The procedure, contract or operation is chosen at capture time. All of it is frozen inside the record at the instant it is produced: editing later never reaches what is already made. AUDIT TRAIL Every timestamp attempt, successful or not, every deleted record and every deleted procedure is kept in its own trail, with date, time and identifier. WHAT IS FREE Capturing, hashing, timestamping, transcribing, generating the certificate and reading all of it inside the app are free and unlimited, forever. The free tier limits one thing only: exporting out of the app, twice a month, counted per record — exporting a record you already exported costs no new quota. TITO CAM PRO A monthly or yearly subscription, with seven free days, that lifts the export limit. Nothing else is paid for, there is no advertising and there is no third-party SDK. PRIVACY YOU CAN CHECK No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no third-party SDKs. Media, transcripts and metadata stay on the device. Syncing through your own iCloud and resolving an approximate address are both off until you turn them on, and the app says in plain words what each one sends. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation, and management and cancellation happen in that account's settings.
