About
Tappaboo is a first toy for babies and toddlers, made to be handed to a child by a parent. There is no text anywhere in it. Nothing to read, nothing to dismiss, no menus, no score, nothing to win. A child can only touch the screen, and every touch answers. That is the whole idea. At this age discovery is physical: touch something, hear something, feel it in your fingers, watch it move. Tappaboo keeps that loop short and honest, so the connection between a finger and a sound is obvious the very first time. WHAT A CHILD FINDS Boo. Touch him and he answers: a blink, a giggle, a wobble. Leave him alone and he looks quietly around, waiting to be noticed. Peekaboo. Cover the screen with a hand, then uncover it. Boo hides and comes back. The first game most babies ever learn. Sounds. A grid of animals and vehicles, every one a real recording rather than a beep. Touch the dog and a dog barks. Keep a finger down and it keeps barking, for as long as the finger stays. Colour. Turn the Digital Crown and the whole world changes colour. Confetti. Shake the watch and it scatters across the screen. The movement is deliberately calm. Nothing flashes, nothing races, nothing competes for attention. The sound is the reward; the picture simply agrees with it. FOR PARENTS A play timer you set ends the session gently: Boo yawns and falls asleep rather than the screen simply stopping. Sound, volume and haptics are yours to set, behind a deliberate press a small child will not find by accident. Reduce Motion is respected throughout. Tappaboo runs entirely on the watch. No network connection at all, no data collected, no analytics, no advertising, and no permissions requested. It is bought once: no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and nothing held back behind one. One watch setting is worth changing before you hand it over: Settings > General > Return to Clock > Tappaboo > After 1 hour. Otherwise the watch puts Tappaboo away while your child is still playing. Requires watchOS 10 or later. No iPhone app needed.Read more
