Owly

Owly keeps your notes as plain Markdown files in a folder you choose. There is no account and nothing to sign in to. Your notes stay on your device, or in iCloud Drive if you put the folder there, and any Markdown app can open them. WRITE • Markdown styled as you type: headings, bold, lists, quotes and links • Folders you name, holding ordinary .md files • Search by title or by what is inside a note • Add photos to a note • Dictate a note and format it as you speak: say "bold this" or "quote this" REMEMBER • Put a reminder on any note, and repeat it daily, on weekdays, weekly, monthly or yearly • Mark a note high priority • See what is coming up, and what you have not filed yet RECORD • Record a meeting straight into your notes ON IPAD • Your notes in a list beside the one you are writing, or hide the list and give the note the whole screen • Draw straight into a note with Apple Pencil or a finger, and tap a sketch to keep drawing • A sketch is an ordinary image in your folder, readable anywhere • Turn handwriting into typed text, recognised on the iPad • Mark up a photo and keep the original ON APPLE WATCH • Tap Record and speak. A voice note of up to 45 seconds reaches your notes, and your iPhone writes down the words. • Start, mark and stop a meeting your iPhone records • Needs an iPhone with Owly, paired with the watch AI, ONLY IF YOU WANT IT Owly is a complete notes app with no AI at all. If you want help, Owly can suggest a title, suggest where notes belong, and answer questions from your notes. On a device with Apple Intelligence that runs on the device itself. You can instead use a cloud AI provider with your own API key: nothing is sent until you agree, and requests go straight from your device to that provider under your own account. Owly sells nothing and takes no cut. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Company31 has no server in Owly and never sees your notes.
