About
Mirino turns your iPhone or iPad into a simple, intuitive astronomical sky finder. Want to know where a planet or constellation is in the night sky? Choose it from our catalog and follow the guides. Wondering what you're looking at? Just point your device up toward it. Mirino has an extensive library of planets, constellations, deep sky objects like galaxies and nebulae, bright stars and meteor showers. Each has a big beautiful picture and a short description of what it is and the stories behind it. No complicated star charts. No screen crowded with hundreds of stars and paths. Mirino is designed to make finding and identifying the most interesting things in the night sky quick and easy. FIND Choose the Moon, a planet, bright star, constellation, galaxy, meteor shower, celestial pole or the Milky Way from the catalog. Guide dots over the live camera view help point you toward it until your target is in the crosshair. You can even locate objects hidden by daylight or cloud, or find where the Sun will set or where the Moon will rise. DISCOVER See something interesting, or just curious what's in that part of the sky? Switch to Discover mode and sweep your device across the sky. Mirino shows you what you're pointing at, with its name and a beautiful image that updates as you move. TONIGHT Not sure what to look for? One tap lists the best things to see from where you are tonight: the Moon and its phase, the brightest planets, any meteor shower near its peak, and the stars, constellations and deep sky objects well placed after dark. Tap one of those and Mirino guides you to it. Every object tells you when it's above the horizon tonight, when it's best seen and how bright it is. The Moon shows tonight's phase and the next full Moon; meteor showers list their active dates, peak night and hourly rate. SEE THE SKY BEHIND THE COMPASS Turn on the SkyScope to see a live view of the sky behind the compass rose. On a dark night, Night Boost automatically brightens the camera view so objects in the dark sky show more clearly. Auto mode gradually ramps up the strength as the sky gets darker, easing off again when it gets brighter. Leave it on Auto or (with Pro) set the strength yourself. MADE FOR REAL NIGHTS OUT • Sunrise, sunset, moonrise and moonset, with today's times right on the picker. Ideal for planning a photograph or knowing when and where to look • Golden hour and blue hour times for photographers • All the planets, more than 40 constellations and over 60 of the brightest stars, each with a large image • Meteor showers with peak dates and guidance toward their radiant, so you know where to look on the right night • An Above Horizon filter that shows only the objects in the sky where you are now • One-tap Calibrate: center the Moon or a bright planet and tap to sharpen the aim, correcting for local compass interference • Works anywhere, fully offline. No account, no sign-up, no data connection SIMPLE BY DESIGN One screen, one target, clear guidance. Mirino isn't trying to put the entire universe on your screen. There are no cluttered star maps, hundreds of labels or complicated menus. Just the objects you're likely to want to find, a live view of the sky, and clear guidance showing you where to look. Make Mirino your own by swiping between compass styles, from wood to classic brass or modern steel and more playful designs like fur and leather. Choose. Point. Find. Or simply point and discover. FREE TO USE, ONE PRICE TO OWN The Sun, the Moon, rise and set times, Discover's object names and Tonight's list are all free, along with a few tasters from the full catalog. A single one-time purchase unlocks everything else: every planet, dozens of constellations, galaxies, nebulae and star clusters, the brightest stars and meteor showers, each with its image, description and viewing times. Plus golden and blue hour times and manual Night Boost control. No subscription. No ads. Buy it once and keep exploring the sky.Read more
