About
A Valentine One earns its keep on the highway. Out there its own filtering does the work, and most of what survives is worth hearing. City and suburb driving is the opposite problem. Automatic doors, motion sensors, and the blind-spot radar on the car beside you blanket a commute in K band. A detector that goes off at every grocery store is one you stop listening to, and that is the only failure mode that actually costs you anything. V1 Bogey connects to a Valentine One Gen2 over Bluetooth, watches the alert stream, and remembers the false alarms you point at. Drive past that same door opener tomorrow and it sends a hardware mute before the alert becomes noise. One button, no configuration, phone in your pocket for the whole drive. The goal is not fewer alerts. It is that the ones you still get mean something. HOW IT WORKS Press FALSE on a false alarm and the app records where you were, which band, and the exact frequency. Next time all three match, it mutes the detector for you before you hear it. A saved lockout only fires when you are within about 300 metres of where you saved it, on the same band, and within 10 MHz. Only the detector's priority alert is ever considered, so a genuine threat that outranks a known false alarm is never muted over the top of. IT WILL NOT SILENCE THE REAL THING Automatic learning never touches Ka, the band American police actually use. However often a Ka signal is seen, it is only ever silenced by a decision you made deliberately. You can also mark a signal as real, which removes any lockout covering it and stops it ever being learned automatically. FROM THE LOCK SCREEN The current or most recent bogey appears on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, with FALSE and REAL beside it, so a false alarm can be marked without picking up the phone. ALSO • A map of every lockout you have saved, with its match radius drawn, alongside where your recent alerts happened, so you can see which ones overlap and delete what you no longer want • A seven day log of every alert with speed, position and peak strength, exportable as CSV or JSON • Optional iCloud sync of your lockouts through your own private account • A read-only view of how your detector is configured: firmware, bands, filters, sensitivity, custom sweeps • Full VoiceOver support and Dynamic Type REQUIREMENTS A Valentine One Gen2, which has Bluetooth built in. No V1connection LE accessory is needed. The Gen2 accepts one Bluetooth connection at a time, so other detector apps must be fully closed. Always location access is required. A false alarm is only a false alarm at a particular place, so matching one means knowing where you are, and it has to keep working with the phone in a pocket. No account, no server, no data sent to us. A NOTE ON THE LAW Radar detectors are illegal in Virginia and the District of Columbia, and in commercial vehicles over 10,000 pounds throughout the United States. This app is a companion for a detector you already own and are lawfully permitted to use. Speed limits are not advisory.Read more
