About

Footworx reads the runs and walks your Apple Watch — or any app — has written to Health, and works out what they mean. Every figure explains itself: tap one and it says how it was computed and whose method it follows, with the source named. WHAT EVERY OWNER GETS • Every run and walk on its own card, from the day you choose: time, distance, pace, heart rate, climb and the weather recorded with it. • The route on the map with your pace drawn along it, and pace, heart rate and climb window by window under one finger. • Heart-rate zones by six methods — percent of maximum, Karvonen reserve, Friel or Coggan percent of threshold, polarized three zones, or your own cuts — and every past workout judged by the same table. • Your shoes: pairs with their mileage, a default pair that takes every run and walk you have not assigned, and a chart of what was run and what was walked in each pair — by week, month, year or all time. • Days, months and years rolled up: steps, distance, running and walking, sleep and resting heart rate, one sheet per day or span. • Trims and merges: a forgotten stop cut away, two halves of one run joined. Correcting what is shown never costs anything. • Kilometres or miles, English or German, and a one-file backup of your shoes and settings. PRO — the app working something out • Training load: TRIMP for every session from your own heart-rate reserve, or from your rated effort where the heart was not measured. • Fitness, fatigue and form, day by day over your whole history, with the weeks ahead drawn twice: with no training, and at last week's load. One conservative suggestion for today, read from your form, your recent load and last night's resting heart rate. • Best efforts: your fastest kilometre or mile, 5 K, 10 K, 15 K, half and marathon, from every run and every walk, with estimates for the races past your longest. • Intervals and steadiness: work and rest stretches in order, what each one cost, and how steadily you held the pace. • Trends at matched effort: heart rate at the same pace week by week, and every metric over time. • Your VO₂max graded on the Cooper Institute's table for your age and sex; this route ranked against every other time you covered it; how sure your zones are, and what your record would suggest instead; and when a pair of shoes will run out. • Recovery, your fastest stretch, power, sleep, weight and load as pills on every card. ULTIMATE — the deepest figures and every way out • Everything in Pro. • Cadence, stride, ground contact, vertical oscillation and flight, window by window; grade-adjusted pace; what the heat cost you, fitted from your own sessions. • The one-page sheet as a PDF, the card as an image or a short animation, and everything computed as JSON or CSV — a workout or a whole year at a time. Pro and Ultimate are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. Pro owners can move up to Ultimate later for less than its full price; buying Ultimate straight away costs less in total. YOUR DATA Everything is worked out on your iPhone. Footworx reads from Health and never writes to it. No account, no server, no analytics — nothing is sent anywhere unless you export it yourself. Footworx needs iOS 17 and shows what your watch wrote to Health. An Apple Watch writes the most: a heart rate every few seconds, the route, running power and running dynamics. Other watches write less, and a figure a watch never wrote cannot appear. It is not a medical device and gives no medical advice.Read more
