The Imagination of Ellis is a quiet sunset island where an eight-year-old can walk, build, and invent. Ellis snaps motors, axles, and wheels together and watches them spin for real. He can sit in a little car and drive. He can grow new land out over the lake, stack hills, and walk on what he just placed. Family places are already on the island. Mom sits at the kitchen table for math and reading. Dad's studio has a grand piano with named keys and short lessons. Emersyn plays catch on a softball field. Edyn's band plays on the stage.
