About

Cereal for dinner. Repeating an artist on a road trip. The correct way to load a dishwasher. Some opinions deserve their day in court. Overruled turns harmless hot takes into playful courtroom debates. Put an idea on trial, make your opening statement, and let the public jury rule. MAKE YOUR CASE File a take in food, home, relationships, friend groups, workplace-safe topics, or pop culture. Choose a 24-hour, three-day, or seven-day court clock. The idea is on trial; another person is never the defendant. TAKE A SEAT ON THE JURY Browse open cases and choose the ones worth hearing. Read the opening statement, vote to Uphold or Overrule, and add an optional written opinion. No invitation required. VOTE INDEPENDENTLY Every account gets one ballot per case, and authors cannot vote on their own takes. The vote split and other opinions stay sealed until the clock closes. Jurors appear under a generated alias specific to each case, while authors use their chosen court names. LET THE COURT SPEAK With at least three ballots, the court delivers its verdict: upheld, overruled, or divided. Share a theatrical verdict card, revisit your court history, and follow your contributions in Chambers. EXPLORE THE HALL OF PRECEDENT Discover completed cases their authors have chosen to publish, and see which takes got the court talking. KEEP IT LOW-STAKES Overruled is for opinions, not accusations. Serious allegations, harassment, private information, and real legal disputes are outside its jurisdiction. Report a concern or block an author from the case menu. Sign in with Apple is required for online participation. Overruled is entertainment, not legal advice.Read more
