About
Foodlit tells you why your food photo feels off - then fixes it. Most filter apps lay out thirty thumbnails and leave you to guess. Foodlit reads the photo first. It measures exposure, color temperature and the direction the light came from, then shows you the three filters that actually fit - each with a reason. "Light is coming from behind the plate, so the front is dark. Try Window Brunch - it lifts the shadows." WHAT IT READS IN YOUR PHOTO - Exposure - not just dark or bright, but how much has clipped and where - Color temperature - it tells tungsten yellow from fluorescent green - Light direction - backlit, side-lit, harsh sun, or soft and diffuse - Blur and the dominant color family of the food Backlighting is the hard one. "Dark in the middle, bright around the edges" is a signal that dark food on a white plate produces even more strongly than real backlighting does. Foodlit looks at the structure of the frame, not just the brightness spread, to tell the two apart. FILTERS THAT COME WITH A REASON - 24 filters scored against your photo; only the top three are shown - Each one tells you what it does to this photo, in numbers ("Brighten +51, lift shadows +38, warm +22") - Why it helps, and when you should skip it HELP BEFORE YOU SHOOT - Live lighting coach - know what the light is doing before you tap - Preview any filter on the live camera - Level and shooting-angle guide - front on, 45 degrees, or straight down Angle is half the battle in food photography - Your original shot is saved automatically. Edits are a matter of taste, but you only get one chance at the shot. SIMPLE WHEN YOU WANT IT, DETAILED WHEN YOU DON'T - Simple - one slider for filter strength For when you like it but it's a little much - Detailed - exposure, contrast, saturation, temperature and six more - Press and hold to compare against the original YOUR PHOTOS STAY ON YOUR PHONE Every measurement and every edit happens on the device. Nothing is uploaded. There is no account to create. WHO IT'S FOR - Anyone posting restaurant and cafe photos - Anyone who has wondered why their photos never look quite right - Small business owners shooting their own menu photos Watch an ad to open 16 premium filters for 24 hours.
