About

Return is a witness, not a verdict. Here is the practice: you guess how settled or wired you feel, point to where the sensation lives in your body, and then see your heart rate variability reading beside your guess. Some days, by design and disclosed in advance, Return holds the number back, so your felt sense gets its turn before the number speaks. Return also notes how long it takes your body to settle back into its own typical range after something spikes you. Not how high things went, but how much time passed before you came back. HOW IT UNFOLDS, IN THREE PARTS First, meet your normal. A few quiet seated readings a day until your own pattern draws itself. Your readings build your own usual range, and every new reading is read against it. Then, calibrate. Guess before you look. Tap when a real moment lands and let the recording run while it passes. The held-back days keep the practice honest. Then, graduate. Return is designed to be needed less. When your record shows your guesses landing close again and again, the strap becomes an occasional check. The skill was never in the app. It was in the guessing, and you were the one doing it. WHAT RETURN DOES NOT DO No scores, grades, ratings, or streaks. Missing a day is data, not failure. No comparisons to other people. Your record is read only against your own history. No promises. It never tells you what your numbers mean or what a practice will do. It says what it does not know. Whether numbers like these can be measured reliably in daily life has not been established, by us or anyone. Every exploratory number carries a label saying so. WHAT YOU NEED A Polar H10 chest strap for readings. The app teaches everything else. YOUR DATA Yours. Export everything in plain files, delete everything in two taps. No ads. Nothing sold, ever. Return is not a medical device, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and is not therapy or a substitute for it. A crisis resources page is one tap from every screen.Read more
