IndustryPayments is an independent project of Freshcod3s LLC. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services or any other government agency. "CMS Open Payments" is named here only as the name of the source dataset. A read-only viewer over one federal dataset: the payment disclosures companies must file by law, shown as CMS published them. WHAT OPEN PAYMENTS IS Open Payments is the federal transparency program created by the Physician Payments Sunshine Act (42 U.S.C. 1320a-7h). The law requires drug and medical-device manufacturers and group purchasing organizations to report payments and other transfers of value they make to physicians and non-physician practitioners. CMS collects those filings and publishes them publicly. This app displays what was published. WHAT THIS APP IS, AND IS NOT It is a viewer over a single published dataset. It compiles nothing. - It reads one source. CMS records are never merged, cross-referenced, or enriched with data from anywhere else. - It derives nothing. No scores, rankings, grades, risk assessments, flags, or badges are computed about anyone. - It accepts nothing. No comments, ratings, reviews, or user submissions about any individual. - Every figure comes from the server as CMS published it and is rendered as received. WHAT YOU CAN DO - Browse by year, payment type, state, specialty or company. - Search names; narrow by state or specialty; load more matches. - Read reported totals and payment details: company, date, amount, payment type and CMS dispute marker. - Keep full records offline; compare published figures for 2-3 providers. - Share records with source links or open the official CMS record. - Enable optional on-device change alerts; open saved providers with Siri or Shortcuts. ON YOUR DEVICE Saved and recently viewed lists and offline copies stay on this device. Searches send terms to our API; record requests and optional alerts send public provider IDs. No account, ads, purchases, analytics, tracking or crash-reporting SDKs. Built-in figures show their CMS data date and load without a connection. Stored records remain readable offline. WHAT THE FIGURES ARE Figures are General Payments only. Research and Ownership/Investment are separate CMS datasets, never summed with them. Teaching-hospital records exist in the CMS source and are not mirrored here. WHAT A REPORTED PAYMENT MEANS "Financial relationships do not necessarily indicate an improper relationship; the data is open to interpretation." - CMS Open Payments A reported payment reflects a financial relationship a company disclosed. It does not indicate wrongdoing or a conflict of interest, and it says nothing about the quality of anyone's care. Companies submit and attest to these records; CMS publishes them as reported, and this app displays them unverified. A payment attributed to a recipient may have gone to a hospital or research institution rather than to that person. A name match is not confirmation of identity; check the NPI, specialty, and location. Corrections are made at CMS and reach this app on the next publication. The CMS record is authoritative.
