About

Aurore gathers your sources into a daily paper with a beginning, a length and an end. You read it, the last page says "you're up to date", and the app gets out of the way. ONE STORY, ONCE The same wire story turns up at four newsrooms in a day. Aurore recognises it by its content — not its headline — and shows it once, even when it has been translated from another language. The other versions wait behind the pills of the newsrooms that covered it, one tap away. THE WHOLE ARTICLE Most feeds deliver a teaser. Aurore fetches the page and extracts the text, set like the rest of the paper. For sites you subscribe to, the built-in browser keeps your session. NOTHING LEAVES YOUR DEVICE Your sources, your settings, what you have read: all of it stays with you, synced across your devices through your own iCloud account. There is no account to create, so there is nothing to know about you. Summaries and context are computed on your device. LEGIBLE WHEN EYESIGHT FADES A stronger-contrast setting turns the ink pure, thickens the text and asserts the rules across the whole app. Two high-contrast backgrounds — black on white, white on black — stay free, as do the Atkinson Hyperlegible and OpenDyslexic typefaces. Text size, typeface and background all change while you read, without leaving the article. FOUR WAYS THROUGH IT Paper, magazine, grid or list: the same material, laid out the way you read it best. Twelve reading backgrounds, thirty typefaces, eight accent colours. WHAT YOU WANT TO KEEP Highlight a passage and it stays. The library gathers what you saved and what you highlighted; the archive keeps past papers, day by day. YOUR NEWSLETTERS, OUT OF THE INBOX Aurore collects your mail, tells newsletters from the rest, and files them in the paper. Once read, the letter goes to the bin. VIDEOS AND THREADS TOO A YouTube, Dailymotion or PeerTube channel is followed like a paper. Bluesky and Mastodon come in the same way: a thread of six posts becomes an article, without the replies or the like counter. YOUR PAPERS, NOT ONE Morning, work, a story you follow: each its own paper, each finite. An article read in one is read in all. ON IPHONE, IPAD AND MAC One app, at home on each screen, with its widgets. What you read on one is read on the other. FREE, WITH NO TIME LIMIT Twenty sources, one themed paper, seven days of archives — and everything else. The one-off purchase lifts those three limits for good: no subscription, nothing to cancel. Aurore lives on what you pay, which explains the rest: no ads, no tracking to resell, no feed lengthened to keep you.Read more

A new way around. On iPad and Mac, the sidebar shows your journals, the three kinds of Read Later and the shelves of your library. Controls sit on two rows, in the same order on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and fold up on their own when the window gets narrow. Search everywhere: today's journal, past journals, your highlights and your sources, in a single search. Journal views are spelled out: Quick reads, Covered everywhere, Nowhere else… Read Later tells articles, web pages and videos apart. Less advertising in articles: merchant logos and sponsored boxes are gone, and an image is never blown u…
