About

Most plant apps are identifiers. You point your phone at something, it hands you a name, and that is the end of the relationship. Green Claws works the other way round. Identifying your plants is only the setup. What you get back is an almanac of the plants you actually own, one that changes as the year does. Six houseplants on a windowsill is a collection. So is a balcony, an allotment, or half an acre. Green Claws does not assume you have a garden. WHAT YOU GET In flower now. Which of your plants are in bloom this month, and which are about to be. This month's jobs. The pruning, feeding, dividing and repotting that applies to the plants you actually own, in the month it wants doing. Green Claws reads from the photograph whether a plant lives indoors or outside, so a job written for a border is never offered for the same plant on a windowsill. Watering that watches the weather, not a fixed schedule. For anything growing outside, Green Claws follows the rainfall where you are and tells you when there has been a dry spell worth acting on. Every plant gets a page of its own: your photographs, how much light and shelter it wants, how hardy it is if it lives outside, how big it will get, and whether it is toxic to pets or children. SETTING IT UP Walk round and photograph everything, indoors and out. The camera keeps a running count, or you can import photographs you have already taken. Identification happens in the background, so nothing makes you wait on one plant before starting the next. Then you confirm. Each plant shows its three likeliest species with how confident the match is, alongside reference photographs so you can check for yourself. Nothing is ever filed under a name you did not agree to, and an identification you got wrong can be redone later. Indoors or outdoors is a one-tap correction on the same card. QUIET BY DESIGN No daily reminders. No streaks. No notification every time something might want a drink. Plants run on months, not push notifications. YOUR PLANTS, YOUR DATA Your location is rounded to about 10km before it ever leaves the app, and is never stored precisely. It is there to know your weather, not your address. If everything you own lives indoors, decline it and you lose nothing but the rainfall. PRO VERSION AND SUBSCRIPTION Green Claws Pro is available as an annual subscription at £19.99/year, or as a one-off lifetime purchase at £49. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Rainfall for the watering list now comes from Apple Weather. The Watering page says so at the foot of the list, with a link to where the data comes from.
