About

NetVitals turns your iPhone into a private network diagnostics toolkit. Measure connection performance, check Wi-Fi health, and investigate network problems with no account, ads, or tracking. MEASURE YOUR CONNECTION • Speed Test — measure download and upload speeds, latency, and jitter through Cloudflare’s HTTPS speed-test service. • Network Info — view your connection type and local IP address. Your public IP address and ISP are loaded only when you tap the button. • Wi-Fi Health — receive a 0–100 performance score based on tests of your local gateway, internet connectivity, and DNS. NetVitals helps identify whether a problem is most likely related to the local network, ISP path, or DNS. DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS • Ping — test TCP port 443 reachability and connection latency to a host using five attempts. • DNS Lookup — resolve A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, and TXT records. A and AAAA records use the iOS system resolver; other supported records use Cloudflare DNS-over-HTTPS. • Traceroute — trace a route using one ICMP probe per hop with an increasing TTL. Networks that filter ICMP may show unanswered hops. Reverse-DNS and location lookups are not performed. NETVITALS PRO A one-time in-app purchase unlocks: • Port Scan — check 20 commonly used TCP ports on a host. • Whois — retrieve domain registration information through HTTPS RDAP, including registrar, registration dates, name servers, and domain status when available. • LAN Scan — perform a best-effort check of the current local IPv4 /24 network. NetVitals reports this device and hosts responding on TCP port 80 or 443. Devices that do not expose these ports may not appear. • Speed History Trends — chart up to 24 recent download-speed results. HISTORY AND CSV EXPORT Speed Test, Wi-Fi Health, Ping, and Traceroute summaries are stored locally on your device. Export saved history as an RFC 4180 CSV file whenever you need to review or share it. HOME-SCREEN WIDGETS Small and medium widgets show your latest download-speed result, rating, and connection type. The medium widget also shows your public IP address when it was previously loaded. Tap a widget to open the Measure tab. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account is required. • No advertising or analytics SDKs. • No cross-app tracking. • Saved history remains on your device unless you export or share it. • Public IP and ISP information is requested only when you explicitly load it. • Each diagnostic contacts only the target host or service required to perform the feature you start. Some information and results depend on iOS permissions, the current network, and the physical device. Wi-Fi SSID display requires Location While In Use permission. Local-network diagnostics require Local Network permission. ICMP filtering may affect Traceroute results, and LAN Scan cannot detect devices that do not respond on the checked ports.Read more
