About

Aegis reads your phone and tells you, in plain words, what it leaves open. Not a checklist of generic advice. The actual state of this device, right now, in a sentence that names what is true: "Anyone can open this phone right now." "The screen never locks itself." "Missing 7 months of security patches." "This network has no password, so nothing is protected." Most people have never seen any of that written down about their own phone. HOW IT WORKS Run a check. You get a score and a short list of what is wrong, worst first. Tap anything on that list and Aegis explains why it matters, then takes you straight to the exact system settings screen that fixes it. Come back and it re-checks itself. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT Nothing leaves the device. There is no server, no account, no analytics and no advertising. An app that reads your security posture and then uploaded it would be the exact thing it warns you about. Nothing is guessed. When iOS refuses to disclose a signal, and it often does, deliberately, that check is reported as unreadable and drops out of your score instead of being assumed. The number is built only from things that were actually measured. It cannot change anything. Every fix is you, in your own settings. Aegis holds no permission to alter your device, and it tells you so on the first screen, before you have given it anything. Questions iOS will not answer are asked out loud. iOS will not tell an app whether Stolen Device Protection is switched on. So Aegis asks you, remembers the answer for 90 days, then asks again, because a phone configured correctly last year is not evidence about the phone today. WHAT IT LOOKS AT Whether your phone can be opened by anyone right now. Whether the screen locks itself, and how long it waits. Whether Face ID or Touch ID is actually enrolled. Whether you are still getting security fixes for your version of iOS. Signs the device has been jailbroken or tampered with. Whether your screen is being recorded or mirrored. Whether a VPN is carrying your traffic. And the settings iOS keeps to itself, which it asks you about directly. Every check is listed in the app, in the open, under Settings. An app that will not say what it looks at is asking for trust it has not earned. CHECK SOMEONE ELSE'S PHONE You can send a check request to someone who would never install a security app on their own. They see the thing you sent them before they see any kind of pitch. No account. No subscription. No network access. Works offline.Read more
