Umbral: Private Journal

Umbral is a private journal that shows you why your days go the way they do. Write when you can, rate how the day went, and name what you felt. Over time Umbral compares what you do against how you feel, and hands back what you cannot see on your own: what lifts your days and what weighs on them. EVERYTHING STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE No account, no servers, no ads, no tracking. Your entries never leave your iPhone, and patterns are calculated right there, offline. You can lock the journal with Face ID. PATTERNS THAT EARN WHAT THEY SAY Umbral will not draw a conclusion from three data points. It waits until there is enough to be worth saying: how often something repeated, and whether it genuinely separates from your average. When it is not there yet, it tells you how much is missing instead of inventing something. • Which tags show up on your best days and your hardest ones • Which feeling you are naming most often • How your mood runs by day of the week • Cycles: what comes back, across separate weeks PEOPLE, HANDLED CAREFULLY You can note who you were with. Umbral demands more evidence before saying anything about a person than about a topic, and when it does speak it counts your own entries — never passing judgment on someone, never telling you what to do about a relationship. WRITING WITHOUT FRICTION • Quick check-in: a few taps, no writing needed • 14 feelings, past "good" and "bad" • Tags, photos, search and filters • Daily prompts for when you do not know where to start • Widgets, and a question that sits with you on the Lock Screen AT YOUR OWN PACE Gentle mode hides streaks and counters.
