About
My Fair Lawn is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Borough of Fair Lawn. Official sources for everything the app shows are listed below. My Fair Lawn puts the borough's public information in one place, so you don't have to check several different websites to find out whether the pool is open or when the library closes. WHAT'S INSIDE • Today in Fair Lawn — the day's events across every section, on one screen • Fair Lawn Community Center — programs, schedules, and how busy the building is • Maurice M. Pine Library — events, hours, and closures • Fair Lawn Memorial Pool — hours, weather closures, and rain dates • Theater & Events — what's on at the George Frey Cultural Arts Center • Local Notices — hydrant flushing, mosquito spraying, and snow emergencies • Reports — what neighbors say is broken around town, and what they say is fixed REPORT SOMETHING BROKEN A pothole, a dark streetlight, a clogged storm drain, broken park equipment: pick what it is and which street or park from a short list, and it shows up for everyone in the app. Neighbors who see it too can say so, and can say when it's fixed. There is nothing to type, so a report is always about a public place, never a person or a house. You can add one photo, and a person reviews every photo before neighbors see it. Reports are shared with neighbors in the app; My Fair Lawn does not send them to the Borough. SNOW EMERGENCIES Pick your street once. When a snow emergency is declared, the app tells you whether your street is a designated snow route and where to park instead — then notifies you again the moment the emergency is lifted, so you know when it is safe to move your car back. NOTIFICATIONS YOU CHOOSE Turn on only the categories you care about: snow emergencies, cancellations and rain dates, closures. Nothing else is sent. SIGNING IN IS OPTIONAL Everything you read works signed out. You sign in with Apple or Google for two things: to send or confirm a report, and to carry your notification choices, followed sections, and snow-route street to a new phone. You can delete it from inside the app at any time, and doing so removes your name and email address too. FIVE LANGUAGES English, Spanish, Hindi, Gujarati, and Korean.
