Nod Chef: Hands-Free Cooking

About
Cooking with your hands full is the one moment a touchscreen fails you. Nod Chef fixes it: your recipe becomes big, one-at-a-time step cards, and you move through them with a small turn of your head. Nothing to tap. Nothing to wipe off afterwards. HANDS-FREE COOKING MODE • One step at a time, in large, easy-to-read type you can see from across the counter • Turn your head slightly right for the next step, left to go back • A small, deliberate turn moves you forward — glancing at the pan does not • Tap zones, swipes and buttons always work too, so you are never stuck • The screen stays awake while you cook • Turn head control off whenever you want and cook with taps instead A CATALOG WORTH COOKING FROM Hundreds of recipes, written and tested for this app rather than scraped from the web. • Browse by meal, by cuisine, or by what is popular this week • Every recipe has real timings, a real shopping list and photographs • Add one to your library in a tap and cook it hands-free straight away WHAT CAN I COOK TONIGHT? Tell Nod Chef what is in your kitchen and it answers with what those things make. • Add a few ingredients — salt, oil, pepper and water are assumed • "Cook now" is everything you can make already • "Almost" is what you can make after buying one or two things, and it names them OR BRING YOUR OWN • Type a recipe in, or paste one you copied, and Nod Chef splits it into numbered steps • It lands in an editable list first: fix, reorder, delete or add steps before you save • Grandma's recipe, one dictated over the phone, or a dish you know by heart all go in the same way SMARTER ON NEWER IPHONES On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, Nod Chef can use the on-device model to turn messy recipe text into clean numbered steps and name the dish. It runs entirely on your iPhone. YOUR RECIPES STAY ON YOUR IPHONE No account. No sign-in. Your recipes and their photos are stored on your device, and the camera used for head control is never recorded and never uploaded. The catalog is simply downloaded, like any other page. Anonymous crash and usage reports help fix faults and tune head control, and you can switch them off in Settings. FREE TO START Save up to five recipes for free. One single purchase unlocks unlimited recipes — not a subscription, and never a recurring charge. Head control requires an iPhone with a TrueDepth front camera (iPhone X or newer).Read more

If you tapped "Don't Allow" when Nod Chef asked for the camera, head control no longer disappears for good. The app now tells you exactly where to turn it back on and can take you straight there: tap "Camera off" at the top of the cooking screen. Allow it, and head control is back. On iPhones without Face ID, the cooking screen now says plainly that head control isn't available on that model, instead of suggesting it was on. Plus more reliable crash reporting behind the scenes, so problems get found and fixed faster.
