About
Hundreds of distribution centers are proposed across Riverside and San Bernardino counties every year, alongside the housing that follows them. Nearly all go through a public review period. Almost nobody hears about it in time. Build Your City puts them on a map. WHAT YOU GET • Every proposed project we can place, mapped across the Inland Empire: overwhelmingly warehouses, plus housing • Filter by project type and review status • See how far a project is from you • Translate hundreds of documents and legal jargon into plain language in seconds • Get alerts for projects that open for public comment review ALERTS Turn on notifications and the app tells you when a project near you opens for public comment, and again shortly before that window closes. Comment periods usually run about a month, and they are the point at which public input is formally recorded. Miss it and the opportunity is gone. WHERE THE DATA COMES FROM Everything here is public record, pulled from CEQAnet, the State of California's clearinghouse for environmental review. We don't editorialize the filings: we make them findable. WHAT IT DOESN'T DO (yet) Only two counties and 64 cities are currently mapped in this version. Not every filing can be mapped. California did not reliably publish coordinates until the mid-2010s, so older projects often have no location attached to them. Nearly every project currently open for public comment does. No account. No ads. Nothing to sign up for.Read more

Turn on notifications and the app tells you when a project near you opens for
public comment, and again shortly before that window closes. Comment periods
usually run about a month, and they are the point at which public input is
